Okay I have alittle issue - I really wanted to walkk down to the isel to Cannon in D by Pachabell (excuse me if I spelled that wrong...)
However, my dad introdiuced me to this absolutly funny skit/song by comedian Rob Paravonian where he makes fun of it and I just know I'll be cracking up the whole way down the isle if I use it - it's really been a huge joke in my family...
So I'm searching for something new, something different and meaningful..I'm leaning towards Real Love by John Lennon (instrumental version) as I am a huge Lennon and Beatles fan....
What are you walking down to???
I'm staying somewhat traditional with Trumpet Voluntary -- it always gets me when I hear it, so I know it might make me more teary-eyed, but it's just so lovely!
I think I'm doing Canon too. It was between that, and Glasgow Love Theme. (I think that's what it's called).
I walked down the aisle to Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel <font size="2">Kamakawiwo'ole. It was great, although I wished the aisle had been longer, we were barely through the intro by the time I got to the alter.</font>
I'm toying with the idea of walking down the aisle to The Luckiest by Ben Folds. That song always touches me and my FI's cousin (hopefully if he remembers to ask him) will play guitar and sing at our ceremony, so we are going with more modern selections.
Wouldn't it be hilaious to walk in to the Imperial March from Star Wars? :D
I'm not sure what I'm walking in to, either. Canon in D is lovely, but it's too long for the tiny little walk. I'm looking for something in the classical guitar/piano genre.
Good luck, Sweeney!
The wedding party is going down to cannon and I am doing the traditional wedding march. We are leaving the church though to the halleujah chorus- we thought that was a cute, light hearted way to end the ceremony.
I'll be walking down the aisle to "Here, There and Everywhere" by the Beatles (off of Revolver). Our string trio has a wonderful arrangement - and the song lends itself to many different instrumentations - even steel drums (as seen during Phoebes wedding on Friends). I'm a big Beatles fan too and I've always thought this to be the perfect processional.
Does anyone know of a good website or place to search for this type of music? We've hired a string trio to play our ceremony and I really want something un-traditional but don't know what song or where to get sheet music for the musicians.
My bridesmaids walked down to the instrumental version of Bittersweet Symphony and I walked down to The Prayer by Charlotte Church and Josh Groban. It was... perfect
Impaitance - OMG so funny that you say that! I was frustrated the other night said "We're walking down to star wars and we're all carrying light sabers!" LOL!!!
I've since changed my mind...LOL
I want to walk to the chorus of "The One" by Shakira even though it's a little dramatic. i imagine it to be sort of like a music video, haha. the first drum note would open the church door, Shakira belts while i cry my way to my husband. =D
I walked down the aisle to "Threads of Love", by Lorie Line. It's primarily piano (actually I think the version I used is the original, and piano solo). Anyway, I play piano for weddings sometimes and have used that one. I just always knew I wanted that song. It is beautiful, and different.
i'm not sure what i'm walking down to yet....i LOVE 'somewhere over the rainbow' by kamakawiwo'ole, esp since we're getting married in hawaii...it's so fitting! but i've always imagined that would be the song i would do the father/daughter dance to, so i think i'm going to pick something else.
and to be honest, i think FI is actually going to walk down the aisle to the star wars imperial song...seriously!!! i figured, it's his wedding too, right? and it will be something funny (and fitting) that our guests will always remember! ![]()
I'm thinking about walking down the aisle to 'Here Comes the Sun'.
To all you Star Wars girls-- our wedding party was joking about that in front of our harpist before the ceremony, and what do you know? For our recessional, after playing the Handel piece and "Sons of California," she threw in a few bars of the Imperial Death March! It was awesome!!! (the fact that it was on the harp just made it even funnier)
The girls are walking to "here comes the sun"
and i'm going to go in to "good day sunshine"
I hope we're not jinxing ourselves for a very rainy wedding!
Currently, I'm thinking that it'll be something from Jurrasic Park. Gotta love John Williams!
I am walking in to "when you wish upon a star", played on the accoustic guitar and while a good friend of our sings it....
I am coming down to Jack Johnson's 'Better Together', and we are walking away to "everything" by Michael Buble.
GOOD STUFF!![]()
omg...i went to a wedding 2 years ago, and the bride walked down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme. Beautiful music, but...all I could think of was...dinosaurs were going to start walking down the aisle. that's me though...
I walked down to I Promise by Stacie Orrico. A couple of friends performed the accoustic version: http://youtube.com/watch?v=c6fNjtFT1aE
A compliation of tracks from "The Lord of the Rings" soundtracks. Ever since I heard it in the theater, I knew I had to make my "grand entrance" with it!
I'm a music teacher and my boyfriend and I both play classical music. We are orchestrating a piece from a Wagner Opera called, "Lohengrin" the piece is called, "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" and it's beautiful. :)
heck i need a song for that.
my girls are walking to nat king cole's 'nature boy' which i wanted to be our first dance but you just cant dance to it (or we cant anyway)
Impatience - I went to a wedding in March where the groom and his party walked down the aisle to the Imperial March from Star Wars. It was all a bit too geeky for me...
Very traditional - Overture to the Royal Fireworks by Handel
As a musician myself, I wanted to meet my groom with a piece that captured the musicial essence of our relationship. Our perfect pick was "Ich Liebe Dich" by Grieg... Another title for it is Jeg Elsker Dig...<font color="#003399"> </font> either way, the title translates to "I love Thee." (My favorite redition of the piece is written for strings... I believe the Norwegian String Orchestra has a beautiful arrangement!)
We are throwing a 50s/60s themed affair. As of right now, I am going to walk up to the sounds of The Dixie Cups "Chapel of Love"
I'm walking down to pachelbel canon d - I know it is a classic but it has special meaning to me.
I did ballet for my whole life. Every day at the begining of class we would do our prepairations to pachelbel canon d. Every time I hear that song it brings me back to some of my best memories, with my friends by my side, doing what I love, and completely at piece. That is exactly how I want to feel walking down the issle so for me it was a no brainer.
"Can't Help Falling In Love" by Michael Buble... omg it makes me melt <3 i can't wait!
FI & I are walking together to Loreena McKennitt's "La Serenissima." I knew the second I heard it (years & years ago) that it was the song I would walk to at my wedding. Whats even more awesome is she did music for the Mists of Avalon (one of my fave books as I am obsessed with Arthurian legend) and I didn't even know until after I had tried on and purchased my dress that it is a Maggie Sotterro "AVALON". I can't get over how awesome that is!!!!!
There's a new Indie instrumental alternative wedding march song called "Walk down the aisle with me" by Hal Sokolow. It's downloadable on amazon.com and there's a sample of it on YouTube at this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJHy09e4J3w
It's ethereal, beautiful and different.
