Youtube Vitamin String Quartet. They've got some great instrumentals of contemporary songs. I'm walking to "The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel, but nearly all of our pre-ceremony music is by VSQ.
"so this is love" from cinderella, except played on piano in a classical style.
I walked to "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. Mr. Library and I started sobbing on the couh on afternoon when trying to pick out music and we both knew it was perfect. I loved that we picked it out together.
@Ms. Library:I have never heard this song so I looked it up. AMAZING! So beautiful! Definitely adding that to one of the possibilities. :-)
two words.... IMPERIAL MARCH
and we are walking back down the isle to Red Sweater-by the Aquabats
I walked to my DH's brother playing Bach's Air on the G String on the piano. We went super traditional for the precessional and went funky for the recessional with This Will Be Our Year by The Zombies!
Our friend and guitarist is playing "Here Comes the Sun" :) Love the acoustic version!
If you want a modern song with a a classical feel, you should check out Vitamin String Quartet. I am probably walking down to their rendition of the Flamming Lips' "Do You Realize" They have some seriously AMAZING songs.
My best friend walked down the isle to bittersweet symphony instrumental and it was so dramatic and amazing. I'm planning on doing the same in Oct. :)
Lani: I love "Elsa's Procession" and would definitely use it if I wasn't using more modern music.
@impatience: I love that! I asked my FI what he thought about using it for our grand entrance at the reception and he said it was cheesy. What guy thinks that's cheesy!
I'm not sure what we're walking to yet. I know that I'm going to have Norah Jones's cover of "Love Me Tender" played probably for our unity candle. My parents had the original Elvis version in their wedding so I'm really excited about using it. We're also going to have songs noted on the program from me to my FI and from my FI to me, he chose "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. For our recessional we're going to Rick Roll people, we'll start out with the traditional Wedding March and go into "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. I've still got to find my song to my FI and that's probably what I'll walk down to.
We're walking down the aisle to Jon Schmidt's love story meets love story (piano version of taylor swift's song) and when the ceremony is over we're playing an instrumental version of Taylor Swift's "Today was a fairytale" because I loveeee both of those songs and we both thought they worked perfectly :) I can't wait!
I always wanted to do something funky and different. But then we chose the venue and it will be outside. Now we both want to have bagpipes!!! Because of that we want something that will sound good... so I'm thinking Ash Grove or Highland Cathedral.
My grandfather was a big part of my life and he was a country gospel singer/songwriter so I'm walking down the aisle to one of his songs.
My Future MIL is going to be pissed but IDC!(:
I am seriously considering "Marry Me" by Train. It just sort of suits us.
I am SO a Cannon in D girl. I actually listened to it played on YouTube one day for someone who had never heard it, and I teared up then! Gets me every time.
I have a few in mind- I always loved Pachabel's Canon- but Vanessa Mae's version of it is beautiful... I also love Andrea Boccelli and Katharine McPhee's version of "when i fall in love" and a song by Josh Groban called "when you say you love me". I wish I could play all three... I'm also trying to figure out how to cut the song so that we aren't standing at the altar waiting for it to finish.
I was actually thinking of Ave Maria acoustic by Chet Atkins. I just love that song and I heard of other people using it at their Weddings.
i've always wanted to walk to "here there and everywhere." i'm a HUGE beatles fan =)
@Impatience: You are AWESOME. I'm giggling so much right now imagining the Imperial March from Star Wars. Classic! :)
My bridesmaids are walking down to Somewhere over the Rainbown the Ukulele version and I'm walking down to Jonathan Cain Bridal March. Gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it!
i am walking down the aisle to mario kart love, the song is adorable and totally suits fi and i
and i am giggling over the imperial march, i think i may just let that be the song for when fi heads up to the alter, i can almost guarantee you that it would be the highlight of his day lol
Great...thank you.... I just watched the rob paravonian skit... now I cant walk to cannon in D now, lol.
I'm walking down the aisle to Brandon Heath's "Love Never Fails".. Such a beautiful song, and that passage is being read by our minister during the ceremony. Its quite fitting for a Christian couple. I have an extremely looong walk, so I think the whole thing will play!
