I went to Kay today to have service done on my rings. Turns out that I need to have a half shank added to my engagement ring? Has this happend to any of you ladies? Also, I have been having fit issues with my wedding band and I get told that because my engagment ring is chanel set/comfort fit and my wedding band is not, they will not fit together flush on all sides. Then they have also messed up the milgraine on my ring so that has to be fixed! uggghhhh This whole thing is making me really upset, and wishing I had picked a different setting in the begining. Do any of you have an idea of what to do? Or any stories to make me feel better? Sorry for my pitty party.

Any pictures of your current set so we can visualize the problem better?

MrsBobcat: I would get a second opinion on the shanks by an independent jeweler. My original wedding ring was a channel band and shane co said the same thing, however when I brought it in to another jeweler they said the ring showed age, however it still had a few years left before any work was needed on it. I’m not sure if shane co said it was needed because they wanted the work or if they have “higher” standards but I trusted the word of the independent jeweler as my family has been getting work done there for years. Just a suggestion!

You can kind of see the miss alignment here, and I don’t know if you can see the missing milgraine since it is closser to the bottom. I don’t have any of the bottom unfortunatley.

Annabellbee: That is what I want to do. Frankly I wish we had just had the ring made by hom in the first place. Thins will be the 5th time its in the shop in a little over a year.

Oh wow.. 5 times in a year! Thats insane! I would either go to a local jeweler to see if they can fix the problem or id demand a full refund or credit. My rings are from kay jewelers also and I haven’t had any issues yet. So sorry you are going through this I would be very upset too. 🙁
