it looks like a cake stand but ive never seen one that is kinda shallow like that. really pretty! is this from a magazine? you might be able to email them and ask what kind of bowl and they may even tell you who its by. is there any kind of credits for the pic? i would also try looking through serving ware sites, like macys.com or crateandbarrel.com and see if you can find something similar.

It’s a compote.  They used to put sugared fruits (like sugar plums) in them to display.  They are really handy to have!  (Smaller ones can be used for candy or nuts, large ones for fruit, and you can even use them to store paper plates on your counter in a pretty way.
