Okay girls… trying to figure out my pre-wedding time-line, in particular what time to make my hair appointment. Here are the important factors:
Me and my 3 bridesmaids and my mom will go to the salon to get our hair done. It will be done by 3 people (1 working on me and 2 other people doing 2 hair each). The salon is about 5 minutes from the hotel and about 5 minutes from the venue.
I am planning to get my makeup done (No one else is), and that will probably be done at the hotel (hotel and venue are 5 minutes apart).
Ceremony will start at 4:30. Photographer will come to the venue to start pictures at 3pm (I’m not doing getting ready pictures, we’re just doing bridal party pics before the ceremony).
I’ll probably plan to get to the venue at like 230 so I can take a look around at the decorations, make sure everything is happening the way it needs to (I have a DOC), and get into my dress.
So given those factors… what time should I plan for hair and makeup? I feel like maybe I should plan for hair from 10-12 and makeup at 1 at the hotel? Thoughts? How much time did you give yourself for hair and makeup?

We started hair and makeup 6 hours prior to our ceremony start time. We had a makeup artist and hairdresser come to my house and they did myself, my 4 BM’s, and 3 flowergirls.
I think your timeline sounds good to me. The timeframe is roughly what we did. However try and see if you can be on the later end of getting your hair done. I personally was the last to get ready and started hair and makeup at 11, got dressed at 1, and had our ceremony at 2.

Our ceremony was at 4 (well, it started late but that was the plan!), and I got my hair/makeup done starting at 10am. It was just me, and my MOH, and we each had hair and makeup done by the same woman. My hair took way longer than expected – it took almost an hour and a half on my hair alone!!
I think 10am is a good plan for the hair – I might give yourself more time for the makeup – maybe 2pm?

My ceremony will start at 2.30 and I plan to have my hair done first thing in the morning, by 9 if possible. The earlier I can get it done the better and I can have one less thing to worry about. But I think it also depends on what type of hairstyle your are getting and how well you hair holds the style

We got our hair and makeup done from 11-1:30. We went straight to the ceremony/reception site where we got to relax and eat a quick lunch. Then we got ready, did our First Look, and a ton of pictures before our 5:30 ceremony. Your timeline sounds good.

My ceremony was at 4:30. I had my hair done at 10:15 and makeup done immediately after. My hair took longer than expected, so I’m glad I allowed enough time. We left for the hotel (ceremony & reception at the hotel) at 2pm and arrived there by 2:30.
Since your venue is closer, I would say no later than 10:30am probably!

@bells: yea that is kind of what i’m worried about… I am going to (I think) have extensions clipped in and then have it down and curly. so it isn’t like it’ll just be shellacked into an updo ya know? 🙂 Although it IS in February which means no heat or humidity– yay for those factors working in my favor!

Our ceremony started at 4:30 as well. I had 4 bridesmaids plus me for hair. Our hairstylist came to the house we got ready at. Here’s the timeline we had for the morning:
8:45 am – 11:30 am – Bridesmaids get hair done
11:30 pm – Bride hair & makeup
1:15 pm – First look
2:15 pm – Bridal party photos
3:15 pm – Family photos
4:15 pm – Backstage and ready for ceremony
4:30 pm – Ceremony begins
The bride should always get her hair and makeup done last so it’s as fresh as possible for the ceremony and reception.

Our ceremony was at 4pm.
I was at the salon at 10am.. it started raining at 10:30am ;)… I think I was done by 11:15/11:30am.
I left for the venue shortly there after and started my makeup at 1:30 (I was supposed to start at 1pm). That took an hour and I was ready to get into my dress by 2:30pm.

10:00 for hair and 1:00 for makeup sound good. You definitely want to plan in extra time so you don’t feel rushed, and with the amount of people you have, you should be out of the salon by 12:00 easily. Planning on 1:00 for makeup gives you time to eat something before the makeup (designate someone to go get subs or something), and will still leave you enough time after the makeup is done to gather your things and get to the venue.

I did my own hair. I started at 8, and finished at 10. My ceremony started at 2pm. It lasted the whole night!

Our ceremony was at 7, and we met for pictures at 4. My hair stylist came at 11:45 to start doing my/my BMs hair (she did mine last) and she probably finished around 3.

My ceremony was at 5:30. I got my hair done starting at 11, and it was not done until 1–I was getting finger waves and had to sit under the dryer for a long time! I did have getting ready pictures done, and a friend did my makeup, so I had that done closer to the ceremony (maybe at around 3).
