@hisluckygirl22:  Do they do cakes too? Some places will have specific vendors they’d like you to order from.  If not, you might want to ask if they have a cake cutting fee.  What about any special decor you might want that they don’t have?  Is it easy to bring those in?

I think you’re pretty good for the most part. Just have a great time venue shopping! 😀

Set up/ clean up included in price?

Do you have preference on vendors and if not used can other vendors come in?

What time does the music have to be done by?

Make sure that your aunt is licensed or if they take non-licensed bakers?

What size are the tables? how many people?

what exactly is included in price?

Size of dance floor?

Day of cordinator included?

Tax/gratuity?

if its a hotel… accomidations?

I actually ended up not using it after the first venue, although we did 6 in a weekend, because it became very clear what was important to me and what I liked/didn’t like. You might have a similar experience.

you said there is a bar – do you bring your own liquor?   if so do you have to pay for the liquor license? 

What timeframe do you have the venue from?   example – we had ours from 12pm that day, until 12pm the following day.   so we were able to come back the next morning to pick everything up.  

what are the load in/load out times for deliveries?  example – can you bring some stuff the night before and they keep it in a safe place for you

ask if they have pictures of other weddings/events

ask for references of previous clients

specifically ask what the hidden costs are?  ask to see a contract, and read it all carefully

What are the overtime charges?   example – if your reception runs an hour over… don’t forget this will also include tear down time… everything has to be done and torn down before your set end time.

Do they have ALL the adequate sound system stuff like speakers, microphones, mixers, extension cords etc – you may need to bring some of your own depending

Is there a space for the bride/groom/wedding party to chill out before?

Who will be supervising the day of the wedding? 

Where is the parking?

do they have a preferred caterer/florist – if so, what is the fee for NOT using them?  they will probably charge like a 15% fee for outsourcing.
