So... since it's always a BBQ... and he's from Nashville... I would say get him some BBQ sauce from a place in Nashville... If you have time, see if you can find out his favorite restaurant down there... I just did a google search for "BBQ in Nashville, TN" and the first one was Jack's Bar-b-que. They have an online store with their own sauces... www.jacksbarbque.com
That way it's right up his ally...it's not too "gifty"... he'll like it and know you're paying attention! :-)
Oh I love the BBQ sauce idea. It's thoughtful yet not too over the top.

So Ive been working for a criminal defense attorney for two years .. I have been here for 2 of his birthdays and the 3rd one will be in about two weeks.
He always has a BBQ at his home and sends evites. I didnt go to the first one (I was too shy since I had only been here for about a month) and I didnt take a gift to the second one. I reeeaally want to take a gift this time. Even though on the evite it states NO GIFTS.. last year people brought gifts anyways.
& Ive also feel like its time to show some appreciation.
Now I am stuck and have NOOOOO clue what to get him. He is an attorney a new dad and originally from Nashville, TN.& of course Im not rich and fear that whatever I get him will be viewed as cheap?!
any tips?!
