I am getting married in the rainforest on the beach in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. I never envisioned spending a lot on a dress and really had in mind a simple flowy chiffon, taffeta, or organza dress. I went to David’s Bridal to try on dresses and then planned to go to RK Bridal the next day to try on Maggie Sottero destination dresses even though they were way more than I wanted to spend. Well at DB I tried on a few flowy chiffon dresses and thought my stomach stuck out, I am not the size 2 that I used to be and am now a size 14 dress only 5 years later! It hurts! Anyway, I then tried on the DB T8076 http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Satin-A-line-with-Asymmetrical-Skirt-T8076_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Silhouette-A-Line and despite the fact that it was cheap and satin, I thought it looked great on as did others. The salesperson put on a crystal stine sash, tiara, and veil and it looked stunning. Apparently I forgot that I will be going to steamy Costa Rica as I was caught up in the moment. The accessories now seem completely inappropriate for the laid back location and I am going to resell them on ebay. I am afraid that the material is too stiff, shiny, and hot now and that the dress doesn’t have that flowy feel. Should I suck it up and spend the money on another dress? Alternatively, I bought more accessories, green sash, green shoes, and plan to buy laid back jewelry and wear a flower in my hair with this dress. What do you think?
I really love this look that this one girl had at her CR wedding: http://www.weddingchicks.com/2010/03/25/costa-rica-wedding/
