Setting aside which dress you may think you like better, is there really time for you to order and receive the Demetrios gown in your size and have it altered before the wedding, which is in nine weeks? My bridal salon started doing alterations six weeks out from the wedding. Even if your alterations could be completed in four weeks, that would still only give you five weeks to order and receive a gown that would normally take four-to-six months or more to order, would it not?
I think you're original dress is gorgeous, and you'll look great!! I know you're having a little bit of regret, but I think you should stay with Alfred!
I agree with everyone else. Stick with the Alfred Angelo! It's gorgeous and classic. When you look back at your photos in 30 years, you won't regret it!
if you want, maybe you can have your seamstress add some beading or lace details to the skirt. should be doable in 9 weeks no?
I think if you really do HATE your dress, maybe you can look at preowned sites for another dress you do like. Having dress regret is one thing but hating your dress is entirely different. I think a lot of brides have dress regret and worry if they made the best decision. Because there are so many beautiful dresses out there. Chances are there will always be a dress you may think is better than the next. I'm not sure with the time you have if you can rush order a gown. I think every bride should love their dress and feel beautiful on that day. So if you decide to keep looking good luck with your search!
I felt the same way. When I bought my dress I fell in love with the back. Then I realized how much I didn't like the front compared to other dresses I tried on. I loved more detail in the front. I almost ordered a new dress online but my sister convinced me to see what could be done with alterations first. After changing the neckline and adding a belt for more color and detail to the front I fell in love with my dress all over again! Perhaps you could add some beaded or lace trim to the bottom edge. There are some beautiful appliques they may add just what you need to fall in love with it again.

I am going in for a fitting today so will see if there is anything that can be done... I doubt it and I dont want to spend an arm and a leg...
The AA has so much pretty detail on top, you WANT the bottom to be more simple. The Demetrios has too much going on. It's better to have one or two details to add interest, not detailed on the entire dress... In my opinion. I think it's gorgeous and you'll look amazing!
@rosieposie1112: What a difference, and you look so beautiful!!
First I think your gown is beautiful and dont change it!
I think Dress Regret happens to all of us and we have to learn to deal with it. There is a REASON we chose the dress we did, it brought an amazing feeling out of us. Unfortunately we cant just try on our wedding gowns like we do our favorite pair of jeans, but im sure once you put on the gown with all you pretty accessories, jewels, and shoes, and your all dolled up, your going to feel a world of difference and your going to look perfect!!
Sometimes simplicity is the best route, leaves room to jazz ourselves up elsewhere.
The simpler the better girl. I can't stand big boofy dresses with pickups at the bottom and what not. This dress is classic and will look classic when you look at the photos in 20 years from now too!
I don't really have an opinion for you about which dress is better, I think it's up to you. I just wanted to let you know that a Demetrios 9713 is available on preownedweddingdresses.com. http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dresses/28268/Demetrios-9713-Size-12.html
Stick with your dress. :) It's beautiful and definitely not too plain.
I think your dress is gorgeous! I went through the same thing before my wedding and I was so worried about how simple my gown was. I agree with PPs that there's probably still time to ask your seamstress if anything can be done to embellish your dress. If you like the way it looked on you overall, though, I wouldn't go through the hassle of trying to obtain and alter a new gown in 9 weeks.
@rosieposie1112: Wow! I love the changes you made to your gown! Excellent decision! You look beautiful!

I have nine weeks to go and I hate my dress....
what do I do. I am having second thoughts. my dress just seems so plain on the bottom. I loved the demetrios 9713. but that was one of the first dresses I tired on. my mom and grandmother and sister and I went to two more shops. at this point I was over it. I still liked theo ther one mentioned it and everyone seemed to love the one I got. but now I am not liking it the bottom is too plain. The dress I have is Alfred Angelo 2102
