So I have been searching, no, HUNTING for the Maggie Sottero Anniston dress in ivory in a store to try on. I have called all over creation. I posted in the classifieds because I thought about buying before i tried- but got cold feet.
I finally found a store in my hometown who had something similar. They carry Maggie and offered to order the sample on loan from Maggie for me. My mom paid the “deposit” to have the dress shipped and we went on our merry way after I tried on about 8 dresses that I didn’t love. My mom (go figure, the woman is totally controlling) gets a call that the dress is no longer available for loan to stores. The store ordered a sample from Maggie (SCORE!!) but it won’t be in until August (BOO!!). They also ordered it in a size 6. Now, I’m not a very big girl and was fitting into sizes a bit bigger. How the heck am I supposed to try on a 6! And not until August?! I’m getting married next September!!!
I think this was more of a vent… I feel a little better now…

If you LOVE this dress then waiting until August shouldn’t be an issue.
Did you try on a similar style to see if you like how the style looks on you?

So you’re worried that the dress will be there 13 months before your wedding? I don’t see the issue? That’s PLENTY of time. You really shouldn’t rush yet.

I guess I don’t see what the big worry is??? I am glad you got one though!

You have nothing to worry about! Most stores recommend buying a dress 8 months out so you will still have plenty of time!
Use this time to shop around! The earlier you buy the more likely you will get dress regret.
You will get an idea of how maggie’s fit by trying on other maggies your size and then they will be able to put you in the 6 (and not do it up) so you can see if you love it as much as you do from the pics!
Good Luck with your dress in August and enjoy this time!!!!

I had to laugh at this post simply out of irony. I went to about 20 different stores and every single store had this dress and I must have accidently tried it on 7 or 8 times. I thought it was so beautiful on the hanger every time I saw it but it looked really awkward on me. Still a very pretty dress just not on me!

Um. My dress is only taking 3 1/2 months to get here. You have plenty of time. Take a deep breath.

I did try on dresses VERY similar to the dress, as well as a slew of other Maggies to see how the structure, rouching (sp?), shape, etc would work. I have scoured the internet and I have basically become obsessed with Anniston. Thanks for putting my worries in check, bees… i was just nervous! I have a really close friend and her dress took over a year to come in!
