With favors, I don’t want to waste money on silly little trinkets that people leave behind. I like the idea of food favors, but my fiance really doesn’t like the idea of food favors. He likes the idea of a plant or seeds or something to give back. However, our wedding is in October and it isn’t like they would be able to plant that until spring. what do you all think about that?

Well, it just so happens that we’re doing plantable favors!
I got these from theknot.com during cyber monday, so I got a great deal (the purple box on the left):
And it’ll hold these:
and I’ll do a sticker on top of the box that says ‘LET LOVE GROW’ with our names and wedding date!
I wanted to do food…but I just LOVED this idea 🙂

I would think about planting seeds – or i would just toss them but food – heck yeah im gonna eat it – especially if i’ve been having some drinks at your reception.
we are doing champagne flutes full of hershey kisses – but i really really wanted to do chocolate covered pretzels.

Well, I agree with you about the food. It generally does not go to waste, that’s why I like it. And I like what you are doing Napabride, but still don’t know if that will work for me either. I have time to figure it out, so I not going to worry too much, but thought I would see what others thought.

We’re having a fall themed wedding in October and we are giving each of our guests orchard mini apple pies. They will come packaged in individual white boxes and we’ll dress them up with coordinating ribbon and a label.
Ours wont have the monogram on it but you get the idea…

We’re doing scratch off lottery tickets and a penny like a few of the bees have done.

We screen printed tote bags (that we got online for $1 each). Practical and guests loved them.

The guests go into the photo booth and take pictures and it comes out the side or at a printer with you and your husbands name on the bottom with the wedding date.

We actually did potted herbs. his aunt is a part time florist and volunteered to put all the herbs into 4″ ceramic pots for me! we did three types: Basil, rosemary and thyme. I made tags and she just tied them on and placed moss on top of the soil. this was done three days before the wedding and i would spray them with water to keep them moist.
we had at least 10 left over after our wedding, so we just replanted them into one large pot and we use it in our kitchen for cooking!

I didn’t read if anyone already suggested this but my fiance and I are doing cookbooks. On our wedding website we added a place they could submit their favorite recipes and those who haven’t added their recipes by the time we send out the invites we will add to RSVP and add a recipe. We’re going to bind and print them ourselves so it wont be too expensive. The only real cost is that we are going to get a pic of the two of us wearing stupid little chef hats and aprons that we will get printed for the front of the books. Hope that helps.

we are doing luggage tags that also double as our escort card holders. There will be removable papers so that they dont have to keep our names on it forever.

We are doing koozies that have a little saying on them
