Happy birthday! If you like improv, you might want to check out Comedy Sportz in San Jose. http://comedysportzsanjose.com/. I used to go when I lived there (almost 10 years ago) and always enjoyed it.
Happy birthday!
Here are a few suggestions:
- Tea Gardens in Saratoga
- Local theatre - We got tickets on goldstar.com for an awesome Agatha Christie play in San Jose for $10 each a few weeks ago. They've got a lot of discount tickets for stuff going on in the South Bay area.
- Hiking - Mission Peak, San Antonio, Big Basin all have some pretty and scenic trails.
- Museum - I haven't been to any in the San Jose area but there might be something interesting?
Hey we are located really close to each other and even one day apart on birthdays. Mine is on Thursday. I won't be celebrating my birthday this year though because I'll be in Gilroy for a wedding rehearsal. I'm the maid of honor.
If I were celebrating, I would probably have lunch/dinner at Santana Row. They have some of my favorite restaurants there. In addition, I would go hiking or biking if time allows. I love going to Alum Rock Park, and hiking there has always been a favorite past time of mine. Good luck. Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be fun.
Thank you all, you have some great suggestions! Happy early birthday to you, too furelysse! I'm not too familiar with other nearby cities like Willow Glen, Los Gatos, etc but does anyone have any suggestions that branch out in other nearby cities? It doesn't necessarily only have to be San Jose. With it being so windy today, we aren't sure if it will be like that tomorrow so it kind of rules some stuff outside like hikikng, it makes my allergies and asthma flare up really badly.
Again, thanks for the help so far and keep the suggestions coming!
how about Campo di Bocce in Los Gatos? It would be fun day or night- might want to bring a few other people along for bocce mayhem!
i say you go wine tasting in los gatos! although i've never been to one there, but you can give it a try. my cousin got married at one of the vineyards a few years back but i can't for the life of me remember the name.
kristasuzanne -- what a riot with the bocce! I have never been to a place like that, but have added it to my California list of things to check out (we are moving there in the next few weeks!)
Happy Birthday Lillindy! Let us know what you ended up doing to celebrate
I completely forgot about bocce until kristasuzanne brings it up. I've actually been to the one in Los Gatos that you mentioned, for a work event, and it was oh so much fun. I haven't been back in years, but now have to try and go back there again since I'm reminded.

Tomorrow is my birthday and we are trying to figure out what to do tomorrow. With it being chilly out and all we would prefer to not venture too far from home. So, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do in the San Jose area tomorrow? And no spas or anything, it's a day with me and the hubby and spas aren't really our thing. Thanks!
