DH’s parents will celebrate their 30th anniversary this October and my parents will celebrate their 30th anniversary next August.
DH and I wanted to do something extra special for both of them to celebrate their big milestone anniversaries but I wanted to see if anyone had any good ideas of what we could do.
Bees – have you ever done something special for a parents’ anniversary? What did you do? Do you have any ideas for what DH and I could look into?

@Mrs.KMM: We threw a surprise party for my parents’ 25th and they absolutely loved it. We did it at a relative’s home, rented tables and chairs and had it catered. I made a display of pictures of the two of them over the years. It was very nice.
Some other ideas could be sending them away for a weekend, or having a family trip with siblings, etc (that of course is on the pricier end) to celebrate. You could send them on a scavenger hunt (I am a HUGE proponent of scavenger hunts lol) that takes them to some of their favorite/most meaningful places and ending at a nice restaurant for either A)a romantic meal alone or B) a surprise dinner with friends and family.

@LilySarah: I really like the idea of a surprise party! DH’s parents are local but it would be a lot harder to do for my parents since thay live 11+ hours away.

@Mrs.KMM: Then maybe for your parents, you could send them a gift card (early) to their favorite restaurant and tell them that you made a reservation for them on their anniversary.
And then, you can arrange to have your family there when they arrive, with the surprise being that you came 11 hours to celebrate with them..?
