I knew… we went e-ring shopping together, then he started acting realllly funny one weekend, and I just KNEW he had bought the ring.   We were all set to go out to dinner one night, and I was sooo nervous, I just knew that night was going to be the night, although I assumed he’d do it after dinner.  Well wouldn’t you know he popped the question right when I got into his car!  Totally surprised!!  I cried too, of course 🙂

It’s hard to relax and not think about it when you know it’s coming, but try to not act suspicious!  My FI told me he was going to ask me a week earlier, until he figured out I was suspicious, so he made me wait a week!

I had a strong suspicion so I made a point to remember the small stuff: that we found a radio station playing Frank Sinatra and listened during the ride to dinner, that we decided to skip the fancy restaurant and eat outside at a clam shack with gardens all around and a favorite song came over the loud speaker, that when he tried to be romantic and sprinkle rose petals before he proposed how he actually chucked them at me and one got stuck in my face.  Try hard to ‘be in the moment’ and also try to take pictures–at least before or after.  We have a shot of us in front of the sunset that means so much to me because I know it’s the ‘last one’ before I became his fiancée!

i only knew because i found a robbins brothers water bottle in his car. i had no idea if he had bought anything though… so i spent the next month being totally neurotic – and it happened when i least expected it.

just try not to think about it, and enjoy each moment for what it is. =)

I knew he had bought the ring and I “just knew” he was going to set up something fabulous and I “knew” to expect it if we went to dinner or out for happy hour with our friends.  Every time we went anywhere or there was a chance we would go somewhere, I totally looked all cute and did my hair and makeup because I “just knew” we would take pictures (my camera was in my purse ALL the time).

Yeah, he asked me in his bedroom as I sat on the bed (naked – that is my favorite part) and it wasn’t anything huge or public and I was SO surprised that it was the best thing EVER!  He didn’t know that I had figured out he had bought the ring, and so he didn’t know I was expecting anything.  I am so happy that he did it his way instead of the way I “just knew” it was going to happen.

Good luck and I can’t wait til you get your ring! Just TRY not to “expect” it!

I was in a similar place as you.  I knew he was going to do it sometime that weekend.  I picked up on some clues.  I did my nails during the week and tried on a million “proposal outfits,” but I masked my excitement around him. 😉

But knowing didn’t ruin the proposal at all!  I still wasn’t sure which day he was going to do it, and he completely surprised me with HOW he did it.  And he was just thrilled to hear me say yes!

Even if you know it’s coming, it will still be special!  You can’t predict what moment it will come, what he’ll do, and how you’ll feel.  Heehee, I’m excited for you!  Congrats in 20 days!

My FI told me one night that before the year was out, he was going to ask me to marry him. I wasn’t sure when; I was thinking that he’d ask on my birthday or at Christmas etc. etc. Two weeks later at the top of Splash Mountain in Disneyland…

The good thing is that knowing didn’t make it less special. It made the anticipation and the wonder all the more sweet!  🙂
