Granted I’m still young, I’ve had multiple jobs. They’ve all been in the health field, either in an assisted living home or doing in-home care, but I’ve now moved into an office position in the health field as a staffing coordinator for an in-home care company. I. am. so. bored. I don’t know if I’m sticking to the health field because I don’t know what else I want? Or I’m too afraid to try something new?
My FMIL and FSIL have started they’re own business in the past 6 months and are doing awesome and even though I act like I don’t care when they talk about it…I am SO jealous. They’re so happy with what they’re doing, don’t mind going to work and working late some days…
Any advice? I would love to start my own company where I can base myself out of my home (photography?) I just can’t afford to up and leave my job and try to find something else that I enjoy but it’s DEFINITELY putting a damper on everything.
Thanks lady bees!!

I think you should figure out what you want to do. Starting a business is a big thing, especially when you’re more motivated by being your own boss than by the field.
If you’re interested in photography, take some classes (if you haven’t already) and talk to someone who runs their own photog business for advice.
Do you like the healthcare field? Would you be interested in running an adult day care or in home care business? Since you have experience in that area.
You should also take some business classes to prepare yourself for running your own business and better know what you’ll be getting yourself into.

The book Rules of the Red Rubber Ball is how I figured out what I wanted to do. I say you have to go with something your passionate about, something that enthralls you and something that you do when noones telling you what to do. Life’s to short to settle for anything less in my opinion

@snd485: Thanks! I do love the health field. I just really need to sit down and see if that’s what I want to do everyday of my life.
