we had bagels for breakfast and sandwiches and wraps for lunch, our ceremony was also at 4pm. Honestly, I only ate about half of my sandwich, I was just too excited to be hungry! The same may be true for you! Just stay away from anything that smells (onions, garlic) and anything that can leave stuff in your teeth (pepper and herbs and leafy vegetables like brocolli)
I plan on eating lots of pineapple
For breakfast I think I had a chocolate croissant because I missed my carbs. For lunch I ordered a platter of chick fil a chicken nuggets for our room. Clearly I am the model of health
Smaller, high-protein meals...carbs will give you gas and bloat you!
@LGenz: LMBO! You're great! I would probably eat something like that too!
I wasn't able to eat any breakfast, but I did eat half of a Jimmy Johns sub for lunch. It was great being able to have it just delivered!
I'm actually really worried about this since as much as I would love to just provide sandwiches, I have a gluten allergy. So I'm trying to figure out where to order some salads with protein for everyone.
Wow, this is a great question. Our wedding is at six and I bloat badly...Hadn't even thought about this...thanks for posting!!
@MUI831: Potbellys! The chickpea salad is delicious, and they have a few other options too.
@Oneeleven: LMAO!!! how did no one who posted after you comment on this?!
@Oneeleven: OMG I seriously burst out laughing when I read this!! That's fantastic!!
@LGenz: A woman after my own heart hahaha
For breakfast I had a croissant and some fruit and cheese. Then I had a couple granola bars throughout the day since my wedding wasn't until 6 PM.
I was planning on having a fruit, vegetable, and cheese platter delivered to the hotel room we will be getting ready in. Our ceremony isn't until 7 PM so, I may add a tray of wraps to that too although I think I will be too excited/nervous to eat anything.
I'm hoping to be able to have my usual weekend breakfast of scrambled eggs with vegetables and bacon. It usually keeps me going for a good few hours.
Great thread! I didn't even think of that and now I am a bit worried. I have a hair/make up appointment at 6.30am, my photographer arrives at 8am with an hour to take photos of me, then my FI and I are doing first look photos 9-10am and the ceremony starts at 10.30am, so the officiant said that I have to be standing with my dad near the ceremony site at at least 10.25. We have family pictures right after the ceremony and the reception will start at noon. So, when and what do I eat in this crazy schedule?
We had a 4pm wedding. Breakfast was from the hotel buffet - maybe 1/2 waffle, pineapple, and a little bit of scrambled eggs? lunch was 1/2 sandwich from Panera. our awesome venue provided cheese/fruit in the bridal suite but none of us were hungry except the flower girl. I had a bunch of appetizers from cocktail hour during yichud (awesome Jewish tradition). Our venue served us everything first so we chowed down and then mingled. We had wedding cake but were too full to try dessert buffet items even though they gave us some at our table. Sooooo much food... :)

hi bees,
our wedding is going to be at 4pm, so i will have to have breakfast and a light lunch before.
what did you guys eat before the wedding? what is filling and will keep you going until dinner and the reception while also not making you tired or bloated? any recommendations, experiences, warnings?
tia!!
