A new sports top? Customised Converses? A meal out and a movie?

We just celebrated FI’s birthday, and we have NO money, since our wedding is next month, so I made the “52 Reasons I Love You” gift using a deck of cards.  He loved it.  He even cried, which I’ve never seen him do before.  I’m sure you can find it on Pinterest 😉

Is he a big sports fan? Football season is about to start back up. Maybe buy tickets for a game for him. And here is what you do, buy the tickets and tell him they are for him and one of his buddies to use. He will appreciate you letting him know and encouraging him to still have his “guy time” even after yall are married.

Best gift I ever bought DH was a year-long membership to the Beer of the Month club. He LOVED it.  He was like a little kid at Christmas every month when the package came in.

how much are you wanting to spend? There are a lot of things I can think of. If he’s athletic and runs a lot you can get him a gps watch from nike or garmin. My FI surprised me the other day saying he’d like a nice gold cross neckalce? If he’s religious that may work. Maybe stuff for the grill if he likes to grill. Pro and college sports gear is always a good one if he’s into sports. Tickets to a ball game or concert?.. give some more info on what your guy likes to do and I’m sure all of us Bees can give you some good ideas! and then there’s always gifts that are more about the meaning that he may like, that pp’s mentioned (card deck, a trip away with jsut the two of you)

I got DH a flip (one of those tiny HD camcorders) for under $200. He’s really into gadgets.

For my husbands next birthday I am going to get him a bacon of the month club membership…he loves it! This year I gave him a shadowbox with his race number from his first marathon, finishers medal, course map and a few other pictures. He loved it! If he has some sort of accomplishment like that it could be really meaningful. Or maybe a shutterfly photobook with pics of your wedding?

@nursemel:  Great idea! I clicked into this because my husband’s 30th birthday is coming up and I want to get him something special. This is totally what I’m going to do. Thanks!

And to actually contribute to the idea pool, what about a weekend getaway? You could book a hotel room at a bed and breakfast or even one of those Sybaris pool hotels. Pick somewhere within driving distance to keep the expenses lower, but if you want to go all out, you can find cheap flights to places like Vegas 😉

I went a little over board for DH’s birthday later this month. The primary thing I got him was a painting of us, our dog, and our ferrets as zombies surrounded by gothic architecture and big ‘ol fountain in the background (he loves water features). He saw something similiar on Reddit a while ago and said he really, really wants one. I took to Etsy and commissioned a painting! I think he’s going to be thrilled. In addition to other gifts, we’re going to the (former) West Virginia State Penitentiary to stay overnight and do a sort of ghost tour. I’m so excited! This has been our year of fun (first year of marriage), and his birthday didn’t get the shaft!

Find an adventure and surprise him. A gift can be a “do” not only a “get!” Where do you live and what type of stuff do you guys like? You could do a ropes course or go ziplining or white water rafting or spend the night at a B&B and do a beer/wine tasting at a nearby brewery/winery.
