I wish I had some suggestions for you - I'm at a loss as to what to get our children as well!
What about a Nintendo DS? They arent too expensive now and they are great time consumers!! Perfect for BOTH ages. You could get each their favorite color. I like noritake's idea of the iPod as well but I think it would be appropriate for the 12 year old but not so much for the 8 year old.
How about a personalized duffle bag? (Especially if he plays sports). Then you can throw some extra things in there.
My 9-year-old cousin loves her iPod...you might be surprised!
veganglam: I too have my sons in our ceremony and didn't even think of getting them gifts!!! yikes..! my oldest is 13, middle is 11 and youngest is 9...what about gift certificates somewhere or taking them out to dinner with just you and your husband? thats what we're going to do at a later date..spend a couple of fun days with them and let them pick what they want to do...they have so much stuff already!
i vote for video game, ipod or zune... they will love it
Thanks for the suggestions. I went ahead and bought their gifts last night with the groomsmen's. I did end up going with a dufflebag for the oldest and a personalized camo backpack for the youngest. They can never have enough bags it seems like. The oldest already has an ipod and they both have handheld video games (one Nintendo DSi and the other PSP).
So glad to get this out of the way! I think the only thing missing now is parents gifts. :)
I'm giving the flower girl (my soon to be stepdaughter) a gift certificate to her fave store , American Girl. To the guys, a gift card to gamestop for all their video game fun.
Hi!I got remarried when my daughter was six. I gave her a pair of raggedy ann and raggedy andy dolls. I know we gave my stepson something...maybe electronics? Nothing big though. He was 14.
Think of something they would enjoy, so maybe a gift card or an i.o.u. to take each of them separately for some mom and me time after the honeymoon.

Hello hive!
I an an encore bride (my 2nd his 1st) and I do have two children from my previous marriage. We are encorporating them in to the sand ceremony, but aside from that they are also in the wedding party.
I've been workign furiously to get gifts for everyone, but I still have not gotten theirs.
The ring bearer is 8 and my oldest is a groomsmen and is 12. What would be good gifts for them?
The BMs are getting jewelry, toiletries and flip flops.
The groomsmen are getting insulated coolers with mongram.
The flowergirls are getting jewelry.
All suggestions welcome!!
