You can give what you want. I saw a cute idea the other day. It was a panty sundae. They had a glass sundae cup and put different colored panties in layers and topped it with red for the cherry.
I've seen all ranges of styles given at a shower--give what you think the bride would like and that you might like to receive! She'll probably get a lot that fall into the "sexy" category so something like nice pajamas might help mix it up.
You can give whatever you want. If you aren't comfortable buying lingerie, then make a gift basket of body lotions, shower gels, etc like you'd find at Bath and Body Works that she would enjoy. Silk sheets in whatever size they registered for is another idea. Use your imagination based on what you think she will like.
Hey all! Thanks for your input! It's not that I'm not comfortable giving lingerie. I'm just trying to get some direction as to what to look for that would be most appreciated.
Is she registered anywhere for lingerie type items? There are some stores that set up wish lists.
Anything you give will be appreciated.

I vote for sexy!
While it is nice to get cute PJs, I was mostly excited about the sexy stuff & I think most girls are too. I think some of the cutest things are cute & sexy babydolls, you can never go wrong b/c its the best of both worlds, both sexy, cute, and somewhat conservative & naughty :)
I think it depends on the bride. Is she very outgoing and confident in her sexuality or more quiet and reserved. I have been to two showers like that with two very different brides. With one, I bought completely outrageous stuff, and with the other, I bought sweeter, more innocent looking things. Just pick something that you think she might like!
I have my lingerie shower tomorrow and I'm hoping I don't get any of the novelty type items like the nurse or maid outfits. I know that one of the girls likes to give those type outfits which is fine to get one. But I don't want too many of them because more then likely if I do wear them it will only be a one time thing. I would rather get the lacy, silky nightie with undies. Because I don't tend to buy those items for myself. I think most of us probably don't. So go for something she wouldn't normally spend the money on.
Is your friend really excited about the theme of this shower? If so, you're golden, and I think all the other Bees have given you great advice. But if she seems less than thrilled, then maybe you should just go with a gift certificate to barenecessities.com or figleaves.com or your favorite lingerie site. I say this because I know I'd hate this theme but it's totally something my MOH would try to do. I am really, REALLY particular about they styles and materials of my lingerie and I know I'd be getting hundreds of dollars worth of crap I hated if someone threw me one of these. Maybe most people aren't like this, but I think it's worth considering if your friend might be.
one nice idea is a lingerie box and some of the special soap stuff to keep it nice and a sachet of lavender or something. Since she will get a lot of lingerie it will be nice to have somewhere to keep it.
I would definitely take into consideration both how reserved of a person your friend is, and also your level of friendship with her. For me, if it was just a casual friend, I would stick to something like a nice silky robe. For a close friend, I would be ok with picking out something a little more personal like sexy panties or a nightie.
Thanks for the help, ladies! I ended up going to Gap Body and ran across a great sale! They had lots of great panties - originally $12 each on sale for $5 each with another 20% off on top of that. I was able to get a variety of nice pairs and made sure to ask for a gift receipt. That way if it's not her taste, she can exchange for something that is!
I was in the aisle at Victoria's Secret the other day and while I was standing in line, I saw something cute that I thought would be perfect for a lingerie shower. They have cute bottles of special 'detergent' for lingerie (really cute packaging) and little tin mint cases with mints in shapes of lingerie. You could get something simple, but jazz it up with those cute accessories since many people will likely get full flown lingerie.

Yes, yes, the panty sundae!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!! Can't wait to do it myself and give it as a gift!!!!

So, I was invited to a lingerie shower for one of my friends. I'm very torn about what to get her. Should I go for something "sexy", an assortment of very nice panties to liven up her daily undergarment wardrobe, or I've even toyed with the idea of some comfy but cute jammies. Thoughts? I'm a bit lost on this one! I didn't have a lingerie shower so I would love to hear other input!
