I am having my wedding at ten am in 3 weeks! I just now thought that there should be something else for the guests to snack on. There is going to be 40 people or less at the wedding and we are serving cake and punch, not a full meal.

Thanks for the ideas in advance!!

I think a fresh fruit bowl or fruit-kebobs (fresh fuit pieces on short wooden skewers) with a fruit dip would go nicely with the cake and punch.

I would also consider something other than sweets.. maybe a cheese and cracker platter or vegetables. You should be able to throw that together, and will give guests something extra to munch on!

    Finger sandwiches would be great!

crudite, little sandwiches.  cheese platter.   just something on the savory side to balance the sweet.  but it can be small.   I think a cake and punch reception sounds just delightful!

How about making a trip to BJs or Cotsco or Sams and getting some of the party packs of little quiches? Nuts are a good addition bc you really need something a bit salty. Here in south Georgia, cheese straws are a good choice-savory and a bit of a kick. Those little quiches with a fruit salad or fruit kababs would still be finger food-people can pick up the quiches with their fingers-two bites max-and the kababs can be eaten right off the stick if they are smaller-maybe 3 or 4 pieces of fruit?

Thanks for the advice! I hadn't thought of using things other than sweets!

Veggie dip could also be a good idea. Maybe a stationary veggie dip table, and then passed finger foods, like little sandwiches, fruit kebobs, etc. Also, grapes and cheese could make for a very elegant platter, either stationery or passed.

my go to snack is sliced baguettes with cream cheese and cucumbers open faced. the nice thing is one little baguette makes like a couple dozen of these! You can make it fancy and mix things into the cream cheese or leave it simple, but they always are popular at parties!

I love the idea of a veggie plate, fruit, cheese, or little sandwiches. I second the idea of getting the food in bulk from Costco and then replating on nice trays for your reception. Sounds fun!

Lox and mini-bagels with cream cheese?  Definitely some really yummy coffee to go with the cake too!

Nacho bar! Might be a bit too involved.
