Something like this in your colors?

Hi!
We're going to use mini metal lanterns that we plan to reuse in our own backyard after the wedding. Most likely will be putting LED Lite Cubes in them bc our venue allows no open flames.
Good Luck!
I like the idea of paper lanterns. You could hang a lot of things from shepards hooks. Plus, the hooks are great for adding visual height outdoors. Here are a few other ideas I found.

And as far as buying them, they are a little out of season. I would go to a few garden stores and ask them if and when they will be carrying them again. Usually they come in a few heights.
Otherwise, are you having chairs? Because you can always attach your stuff to the chairs instead of buying extra shephards hooks.
Here's a different idea:

@love bug that is exactly what I am talking about.... I wonder what size lanterns they used? I have a bunch of 8inch lanterns win white & some really big lanterns in purple. My 8 inch lanterns are battery operated though so they have the platic at the bottom ... i wonder if those would look ok.. still cheaper either if i purchase more than buying/making pomanders
@ whitesonnet I think it looks cute that they hung them from the chairs... we are having chairs we are renting from the venue I wonder if my venue has those chairs ...they just said they were white chairs... they didnt say what kind.... HMMMM wonder if that is the only type of chair you could "hang" something from
Oooo... i kinda like the look of just the Ribbons too !

I just came across this link - premade poms - and they are pretty inexpensive. Add to that the 20% off for WB readers, and it looks like a deal to me. I'm thinking about getting the 12 mini poms for $24. She has tons of colors available too.
Mini shephards hooks can be found at save-on-crafts.com, plus they have some great decorating ideas.
I decided to go with... Purple paper lanterns hanging from a contrasting riboon color... I wonder what size they used on these chairs?? 8" you think? Then we are hanging white lanterns & 4 little bead and ribbon butterflies
You say you like Tissue Paper Pomanders, but don't have the time. Martha Stewart has Premade Tissue Poms, that you basically unfold and fluff up with your fingers. Most come packaged with 8 poms of various sizes (large, medium, small) for about $13. You can get them at Michaels, and use their 40% coupon to make it about $7. If they don't have purple (i usually see white), tie a purple satin ribbon to the top hook of the pom and hang from the chairs that way

So i am having an outdoor wedding.... on grass... no aisle runner... My colors are all shades of purples
I want to line the aisle with petals.
All of my flowers are going to be fake flowers
It is not in my budget to do Flower Pomanders.
I fear I will not have time to do tissue paper Pomanders
I really dont want to do vases of flowers hanging from.. since we are using Fake flowers ... i dunno fake flowers to decorate outside just seem cheesy and will be super odvious...
I can not use candles
I really like the Idea of Shepards hooks...but what to put on them?
Has anyone ever seen decorated paper lanters from shepards hooks?.... Also is there another alternative to the actual shepards hooks... so far i can not find any short ones in my area.
Then there is still the concept of how to decorate my "altar" we will be inbetween those two trees
