Kamasutra? hahah..
Actually, a really great easy read is anything by Jane Green. I love Swapping Lives and I just finished The Beach House in two days.. love love love JG!
ohhh how about sophie kinsella? the shop-a-holic series?..she has another name that she uses..it's madeline something..but her books are light easy reads...and very funny too..
What genre are you looking for?
I recently got into a mystery kick, and loved all of Charlaine Harris's books... I started with the Sookie Stackhouse series (what True Blood is based on) and then read her Lily Bard series, Aurora Teagarden series, and Harper Connelly series.
I'm a big fan of Eat, Pray, Love and then something completely different and fun and hilarious was Park Avenue Princesses...don't remember who it's by, but is a nice, light and easy read!
Oh, I also like Meg Cabot's "Boy" series - I think it's "Boy Meets Girl" "Every Boy's Got One" and something else....
Marian Keyes is some fun, easy beach reading. What about Nicholas Sparks?
Oh! Eat Pray Love is great.. doesnt Elizabeth Gilbert have a new book out now too?
@melv: Madeline Wickham :) I love her books
It depends on what types of books you like. If you like funny chick-lit, the Shopaholic books are great...I usually breeze through those books. I also enjoy Emily Giffin as another chick-lit type author.
Jodi Picoult & Nicholas Sparks are both great authors & theyre books are really easy to get in to.
Emily Giffin - Something Borrowed and Something Blue (different books)
Nora Roberts - Vision in White and Bed of Roses
Why not read books about weddings after you've just finished yours!
thanks for the suggestions! i did read eat pray love--you're right, i think her second book is out now. i haven't heard of a lot of these, i'm going to look them up right now!
@Arancia: Gilbert's new book is Committed: A Skeptic Makes peace with Marriage. Although the title sounds kind of anti-wedding, I think I might get it to read on our honeymoon! lol.
Mrs. Menard to be: I love jodi piccoult too you get sucked into the book that u don't wanna put it down!
Hunnybear: ohh yeahh madeline wickam! hehe yeahh she's a great author..hilarious!
This may be counterintuitive, but if you haven't read a Jane Austin book since grade school, both Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility are SOOO much better when you are older, pretty darn easy to read, and VERY romantic. They aren't sexy, they are just romantic.
An easier book that is both interesting and romantic is The Time Traveler's Wife. I haven't seen the movie, but the book was excellent.
If your tastes are a little darker, I also recommend Mistress of the Art of Death. It is a medievel thriller with some romance. It is also a series, so if you enjoy it there are two more to come home to.
Any book by Jennifer Weiner I consider beach reads.
seconding the suggestion of anything Jane Austen! a million times better than the movies and definitely easy, romantic, engaging reads.
They aren't exactly, um, perky, but The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and its sequel, The Girl Who Played With Fire are great guilty-pleasure thrillers.
Alexander McCall Smith's The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series is set in Botswana, and focuses as much on Africa as crimesolving.
Penny Vincenzi is like Judith Krentz only British and set in the present. I devoured Sheer Abandon on a transcontinental flight.
nothing, it's your honeymoon
actually, a friend just suggested My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler if you a) find her funny and b) are looking for something that is mostly about her trists (although it is hilarious!!)
If you like historical fiction I also really recommend Elizabeth Chadwick or Philippa Gregory - especially Phiippa Gregory series on the Tudor Women (The Other Boylen Girl and The Virgin's Lover) are really easy to get into and really nice reads with a little bit more sex than Jane Austen's books :)
ohh another suggestion is The Friday Night Knitting Club..that was a good easy light read as well...
@monita - I loved the Time Traveller's Wife. It was especially cool because it takes place in Chicago, and the Newberry Library (where he works) is our first venue pick!
@monitajb: i love love love love love love jane austen. and mistress of the art of death sounds too cool to be passed up.
lilyfaith: totally on a vampire kick right now. never heard of the "boy" series, but it sounds really cute!
mrs. dee to bee: thanks for the title!
melv0802 and mrs. menardtobe: okay, a few votes for jodi picoult! have you guys watched my sister's keeper?
mel: you've got so many great ideas! if you can believe it, i've never read a sophie kinsella, must get on that ASAP.
arancia: kamasutra--haha! yeah, i already have that one packed.
clarebee: i'm dumb. i don't even know who that is. will have to google immediately. thanks for the suggestion!
candy_nee: that's a great idea! maybe the something borrowed something blue book...
melv/hunnybear: a few votes for madeline wickham?
littlemissmoo: i'll look into marian keyes. nicholas sparks is good, but makes me nopey because someone almost always dies. :(
misspug: i've wanted to watch that! i read the book and my sister told me that the book is waaaay better than the movie..have u watched it?? oh man, the shop-a-holic series are hilarious! she actually has a few other books, like 'can you keep a secret' 'remember me'..i think it's perfect beach reads..also too the friday night knitting club is really good too..i got the 2nd book and am reading it now...i haven't read madeline wickam but i heard the books are funny too..
@pug, ah, fair enough. I don't think I'd want to read Nicholas Sparks on my 'moon either! Check out Marian Keyes' "Under The Duvet" and "Further Under The Duvet". Short, fun stories.
Or if you want something a bit more sexy you can try "Girl With A One Track Mind" by Abby Lee.

i know i'm jumping the gun a little bit here because my honeymoon isn't for a couple of months, but i am dying to take a break from this cold weather. that being said, what are some good recommendations for easy reading on your honeymoon?
