    So we are trying to figure out our ceremony. We are not religious and I HATE being put on display with everyone staring at us. I know that that we don't have to say or do any thing traditional and we really don't have to say anything at all. We are actually getting married on a ferry boat, so it is going to be alittle noisy and the ride only lasts 15 minutes.

    Help.... I need suggestions! There isn't any PA system so music is going to be a production to get on board.

    This post is a while ago, so I hope that you already have plans!  But if not, I found these simple vows on another discussion and really like them. You could just have a simple greeting and get right to the vows.  Wind instruments' sound (and even strings, if it's the right orchestration) carry really well if you are willing to pay out.

    ___ take _____ 's right hand and repeat after me.

    _____, I choose you to be my wife.
    I promise freely from this day forward
    To be worthy of your trust and deserving of your confidence;
    To be generous with my time, my energy and my love;
    To be patient with you and with myself,
    To return love, tolerance, and generosity to your family.
    To trust you;
    To be devoted to you and our life together.
    These things I pledge before you, myself, our friends, and our family.

    _____ take _____ 's right hand and repeat after me.

     _____, I choose you to be my husband.
