We are thinking of ecofetti. Or maybe birdseed. I don't want to do bubbles because every single wedding I've been to in the last 10 years have had bubbles. I like the idea of satin flower petals, but like you said, clean up sucks!
We are considering rally towels. They will multi-task as our favor and our "toss" item. The idea of getting hit in the face with anything is not appealing to me. They will make for great photos too. I have also seen people doing streamers like these: http://www.favorsyoukeep.com/streamers.html
We are using real rose petals, enviormentally safe, very pretty and no clean up!
Bubbles seem to be an easy thing to do! Also it can double as the favor if you add a bow or something to it.
I actually work at hobby lobby and in the bridal section they have bubbles in about a 24 pack for under $5. But I'm sure you can find them at any craft store or online.
Here's the link!
Or if you do have a Hobby Lobby near you, the bubbles go on sale with the bridal stuff or use a 40% off coupon!
we are playing with the idea of doing a balloon release. we found eco friendly balloons so now its just deciding if we want to do that
Nobody's said sparkler's yet, so I thought I'd throw it out there.
I love GaBgal's idea of balloon release, but I'm looking forward to pictures of us walking out through bubbles or with pretty sparklers on the side.
We are talking about doing ribbons that are in our wedding colors attached to dowel rods. That way when we walk out all the ribbons will be (hopefully) waving in the wind, similar to the streamers.
I know that a lot of venues will have a list of items that are banned from being tossed. So check with them first. We are throwing paper airplanes because we are getting married in a hangar and doing the airplane theme.

I know that after the wedding it is tradition for the guests to throw something at the bride and groom, but what do you throw. I have seen it be birdseed, bubbles, rice, satin flower petals (I did like the beauty of this one, but clean up sucked). What do you guys think? Please post and let me know I would love some new ideas.
