What is it about the dress that makes you unsure if it's appropriate? Is it because it's a dark color, or what?
To tell you the truth, I've never heard of a guest changing outfits unless the weddin gis at like, 9am and the reception's at 6pm or something.
The ceremony and reception are close enough to each other that you will be fine wearing the same thing.
I just don't want to be overdressed. Its a dark purple dress and I have a sweater that I can wear over it....I always end up second guessing my decisions. So I just wanted to get some opinions.

It looks like this dress from Nordstrom, but longer and not a halter top. It is also made of more satin fabric.

I am going to a Sunday wedding on 10/24. The ceremony is at a church at 3 and the reception is at a nice restaurant at 5:30. I'm so unsure of what to wear. I have a nice dark purple dress that I had planned on wearing, but now i'm second guessing myself. Is it appropriate to wear to both ceremony and reception. Or should I do a wardrobe change in between? Any advice?
