What to wear?????

posted 10 months ago in Beehive

Hey everyone!! So we are having a may 08 backyard wedding, complete with tents,lighting,dj,caterer,bartender,etc.. My bridesmaids are wearing light blue dresses. My fiance doesn't know what to wear, nor does his 6 groomsmen. Should the fiance wear  a tux, or suit, or khakis/linen pants and a white shirt? Or should the groomsmen wear the linen pants and white shirts. Should the fiance wear a black tux or tan tux?? HELP

In my head - after reading this, I envisioned the groomsmen in Khaki's with an UNtucked white button down and a light blue tie - while I envisioned the groom in a khaki/tan suit (from Banana Republic) with a white button down and a light blue & white striped tie.

Cheers!

I also picture the groom wearing a more casual tan suit.  That is a nice happy medium between a dark suit and the khakis/white shirt.

I'm having a beach wedding, and my FH is wearing a tan suit from Banana Republic. (in which he looks smokin!). The suit brings a sense of formality/importance but the khaki is just so relaxed and puts a casual air to the outfit.
I would just recommend that the guys get the khakis from the same place & in the same style b/c my FH's Best Man (his dad) waited too long to get his stuff so they don't have that suit anymore... so we're running the risk of the khakis not being the same shade (which in my opinion will look weird in pictures). And make sure whatever they do, they don't get pleated khaki pants... they must have flatfront- men look soooooooo bad in pleated pants. so bad it's scary. :)

But anyway... I agree with you! Go with the khaki suit (and also he'll get a lot of opportunties to wear it again.
