Well this is not actually a honeymoon as I’m a ‘waiting’ bee, but the Mr and I have booked 7 nights at Tokoriki Island Resort in Fiji in late June as a romantic getaway.
What should I pack to wear? It will kind of be like a honeymoon even though we’re not married (though the Mr suggested we marry just for the honeymoon packages!) and I want to look…romantic.
I have no idea what people wear at island resorts. This is our first overseas holiday. Flip flops or high heels? Bikinis or one pieces? Skirts or shorts? Do I take jewellery? Will I need daggy sneakers and tracksuits? Do I need ‘sensible’ clothes or glamourous sexy clothes?
I have a history of packing very badly and ending up with nothing to wear. Any help much appreciated!

When I go to island resorts, I pack sarongs / sundresses, bathingsuits, flip flops, nicer sandals, nicer dresses (but not too fancy), and some chunky versatile accessories. Normally they have one or two nicer restaurants that require dress pants and shirt for men (think Tommy Bahama, not business casual). Look at the trip advisor reviews of your resort and check out people’s personal photos to see what they wore. Your resort may be more fancy (or more casual) than ones that i’ve visited before.

Depending on what type of resort you go to you may have to dress up. Some resort restaurants require a certain type of dress or they won’t let you in. So you may want to take a couple of nicer cocktail dresses with you. Besides who doesn’t like to dress up every once in a while.

Yeah, we are bringing about the same as melissabegins said… my Fiance is brining one nice pair of pants and two nicer shirts so that we could go to a “nicer” dinner restaurant. If he wears the same shirt twice, no one will notice!
I’m brining a convertible dress which I can wear as a dress or a skirt, a tank to match it, a couple other dresses (mostly sundresses) and then a pair of capri’s and a polo if we go play golf! I am also bringing some tshirts & shorts for working out at the gym and playing tennis. I’m also possibly bringing a “surf top” for any possible water sports. That’s my list!
Girls, flip flops and a dress – you can never go wrong. It’s really the guys that have to worry about what they wear (for once!)

I just bring bikinis, flip flops, and dresses. Easy to pack and you can wear dresses over your swimsuit, out at night, etc.

I agree with @hotchild and @ella. Flip flops, dresses, etc are the way to go!

So jealous that you are going to Fiji just for a vacation! Hopefully you won’t be a waiting bee when you come back!
I am going for my honeymoon and I am packing flip flops, one paid of sneakers, bathing suits, cover ups, and sundresses. I will probably bring a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt just in case.

If you need some nice, sexy sundresses, I ordered some at great summer sale prices recently at Victoria Secret.

Thanks girls! Will definitely check out VS and trip advisor and make sure to bring one or two fancy dinner outfits.
I’m trying not to hope for a proposal in Fiji…we don’t have the ring yet and it will be a fabulous trip regardless. I can’t wait, the resort looks stunning! Never been to Fiji before but we really wanted a relaxing, romantic break with white sand and clear blue water, and I think this is it.
Here’s where we’re staying: http://www.tokoriki.com/
“for couples seeking luxury accomodation in paradise.” Yes please! Will let you know what it’s like.

Tokoriki is a great resort. You’ll have a wonderful time!
I do have one packing recommendation most agents don’t mention…
The equator can do strange things to your cycle. Some travelers have experienced the reoccurance of their cycle, even if it’s just ended and not due for 3 more weeks. So make sure you throw some items in your suitcase that will protect you should mother nature drop in unexpectedly.
