I think you should try and coordinate but not match - if that makes sense. I personally think it looks kinda silly when the couple is wearing almost the same outfit. I've heard that it's best to go with solid colors and not too much of a print if possible. Also, keep in mine you'll be holding onto these pics for a while so pick outfits that are classic looking - not too trendy.
I'd probably bring a few options (if you're doing at a studio where you can change). Personally I'd stick with maybe a black skirt or black pants and a cute tank top.

If you wear almost the same outfit, it looks like some kind of uniform (IMO). You should definately coordinate, so that you wear things that go together - as colors that are too different, like one really dark/one really bright - are kind of distracting in photos. I would agree with MsB that solid colors are generally best, again because you want the eye to be drawn to the face rather than the shirt or skirt. In general I think you want people looking at the portrait to say "What a cute couple! You look so much in love." Rather than "Wow, where did he/she fine that skirt/tie/shirt?"

Hi ladies, how did you pick out what to wear for your casual photos? Did your photographer recommend that you bring several different types of clothing (i.e. dress, skirt, certain color)? Did you and your fiance coordinate with one another in advance? =)
