My fiance and I have decided to do our engagement pics in late September when the leaves are beautiful and full of color. Any suggestions on what to wear??? I could really use the help! Thanks so much...we had considered one outfit being white or cream colored shirts with jeans but I look washed out in white so...hmmmm any suggestions??? It would be appreciated very much! What about yellow, light brown or a chocolate brown? It might not wash you out as much. You could have an outfit change, too. I imagine of lane of trees and the two of you holding hands. You could do some with maybe a light sweater, say 3/4 length sleeve and then some with a fall coat. Is it not cold enough for a coat, though?

The brown one is more fall/winter.  The yellow one is more summer/fall.  I really like the yellow more.  It look so dainty.

We did fall engagement shots last year in the leaves. If it helps, I wore a green (more apple than kelly) short sleeved sweater dress with brown tights and brown riding boots and he wore jeans and a grey/blue/black/white striped (thinn stripes, looked mostly blue in photos) button down shirt and brown shoes. For some poses I had a black trench coat and a dark purple scarf. This may sound a bit off but the contrast all worked out really nicely. I think because we stuck to neutrals (blue is a neutral for FI) and secondary colors.

I put one in the gallery if you want to see how the colors looked. We really had fun with the leaves :)

Try emailing your photog as well and see what they have to say. Typically, the rule of thumb is less about what color you're wearing, but that you guys are in the same hues - all primary colors or pastel colors. You want to avoid all-white or all-black ensembles as they tend to not have enough contrast

Given that fall is really colorful you should probably avoid having too many patterns in your clothes. Simple colors - they can be bright - will help you stand out! Hope this helps!
