Courthouse weddings in my experience have the Bride in a knee-length to tea length dress and the Groom in a shirt and tie or simple suit.
Flowers is a small simple bouquet and a boutonniere for the groom.
Do the river cruises still run up in that area in the winter? If they do then do a dinner cruise.

We are having a very private ceremony at the court house. Just us and our witnesses. Our big wedding will be a year from now, but we still want to make this one special for us.
What did you wear or what do you think I should wear for the Civil Ceremony and did you have flowers, how fancy did you get at the court house?
Also, do you have any ideas on things to do to celebrate after the ceremony besides going to a nice dinner?
