I am just wondering what exactly should be worn under your gown? I was thinking of a corset, but I am really unsure! Any opinions on this?

I have a corset bra top thing that sucks everything in. I will probably wear a white thong that will match the outfit I bought for after the wedding :)

Um...I wouldn't recommend wearing your "Wedding Night Lingerie" under your dress.  You'll be all sweaty and grosss...you'll probably want to drop the dress and hit the shower before the hanky panky.  (Although to be honest, we were EXHAUSTED on our wedding night, and had we not been dared that we wouldn't be able to do anything, we would have just passed out fully dressed on the bed!)

Your dress should be structured enough on it's own to not require a corset.  That may just be uncomfortable.  (My boning got annoying after hour 9 for me...)

I wore a bra and spanx bottoms.  And a crinoline.  But that was it, I let my dress do all the rest for me (and really the dress could have replaced the bra too...).

Thanks for the advice! My dress is really fitted throughout, I guess I just want something pretty underneath, but something that will still give me good support and good cleavage. So far I havent had any luck

I'm agreeing with Mighty Sapphire I think I might wear spanx to smooth things out and change later

Yep def going with some very un-sexy spanx to keep the hips and thighs smooth, and then changing into something cuter later in the night.  And no bra for me, I'm having cups sewn into my dress... okay 2 cups on each side.  I'm pretty flat chested so I'm doubling up on the padding up there lol.  A bra or corset-type top would just be way too uncomfortable all night.

I'm just going to wear a strapless bra and regular (but cute!) undies.  When I bought my dress they gave me this weird full-torso length bra to wear under the dress, but it was too big so I just went without, and still found the one!  I figure a regular strapless will give a little more oomph than nothing at all, but I don't want to wear weird uncomfortable underthings!

Thats true, I guess a corset would be pretty uncomfortable to wear ALL day in your dress.  If I am not including the modesty panel in my dress, I would have to find a special bra that wont show wont I?

I am having bra cups sewn into my gown.  I didn't think of this but the lady who sold the dress to me at the bridal shop (she used to be a tailor) recommended it, and so when I went to my tailor, I asked her about it and she told me she would recommend that, too.  So, I am planning on wearing just Spanx of some sort.
