I am just wearing the basic girdle similar to this one. I have worn them many times and they are great. They give you the flat stomach, tight rear end, the the best part it doesn't roll at the waist or the legs. You really have to buy the right size make it work perfectly.
@tksjewelry: Thank you! Is there a specific brand or type of girdle that you would recommend?
I got one at kohls and one at marshall's, they are both great. I like a stonger fabric so i stretch out them to see how strong they are. I don't care about the brand name as long as it holds my gut in, LOL.
I wore a long line bra although it doesn't really suck stuff in but it will make everything look smooth. A corset might be a better bet if you want to suck everything in - I've heard good things about corsets.
I'm also curious about this -
@tksjewelry: do you have a hard time eating in the girdle? I get really uncomfortable if something cuts me off at the middle, and i want to be able to enjoy the amazing food at my wedding!! I find that spanx aren't that restrictive, but a girdle sounds a bit confining....
@ScarletBegonia: Spanx is a brand of girdle. I try them all on. I bend over in them and also put my jeans on over them just to make sure. I am very short waisted and I don't like things cutting me off either, but I have never had a problem with them. Once in a while I get one that rolls at the legs, so I through those out (rare but it happens). I have never had a problem eating in one, I wore one to a really big banquet a few months ago under a dress and I was very comfortable. I really like the way it smooths everything out under a dress.
@tksjewelry:oh i think i might be confusing a girdle with a corset. My bad. yeah the rolling at the legs is very frustrating, i've had that with "off brand" spanx and they see the bottom of my garbage can pretty quick. I agree about the smooting, its great! ANd the feeling of letting my rolls run free at the end of the night is pretty awesome as well (also gross).

Hello Bees - I'm trying to figure out what would be the best thing to wear under my dress that will help whittle my middle. I bought a Spanx that I used during my dress shopping, and it did ok, but I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with something that works better. Spanx? Corset? Long lined bra? Just so you know, my main area of concern is my belly - I'd like to get something that really gives me the flat tummy look. My dress is the Pronovias Gaudi. Any input you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you Bees!
