I'm currently off work sick and need a new tv series to throw myself into.

Over the Christmas break I watched supernatural, revenge, pretty little liars and the walking dead. I LOVE greys anatomy and shows like that.

    Any suggestions?

@dannielle89:  Breaking Bad? Might be a little grittier than the shows you normally watch (it was for me) but give it a couple episodes I'll bet you'll be hooked. The premise to me was completely off putting but my FI convinced me to try it, and I really enjoy it. It's in the final season now, so you could watch a bunch in a row if you're bored/sick.

On the lighter side, no show has ever made me laugh as much as Arrested Development. I recommend The Office as well, although it takes a few episodes to get to "know" the characters before its truly funny.

I'll third 'Breaking Bad', but also throw 'Prison Break' into the mix. It's older, but DH and I just blew through the 4 seasons of it over the holidays...

I just finished season 2 of Sherlock, and ohh is it good. I also found Dollhouse to be quite addictive I finally got SO to watch the first episode, and at the end he said he was intrigued.

Are you into fantasy?  If so, I'd suggest Game of Thrones or Once upon a time

Dexter, Breaking Bad, Homeland, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story are a few of mine. And if you've never seen Prison Break that's a good one from a few years ago.

I would also recommend Dexter, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, I also liked True Blood but it went a little off the deep end.  But I'm not sure any of those shows fit with the Greys Anatomy/Revenge/Pretty little liars type shows (never seen any of those)

I am a huge greys anatomy fan... That being said my other favorites have been How I Met Your Mother, Dexter, United States of Tara and My Boys. There's also Private Practice which is a spin off of Greys Anatomy.

Try Scandal and private practice both written by shonda rhimes (who also writes Grey's). I love scandal it's only it's in second season and it's great!!! I also like The Closer if you never watched, leverage, and castle.

I'm surprised no one has suggested the Good Wife. Even my FI is addicted!

ETA: We're also addicted to Duck Dynasty, but that's just a sick problem we're seeking help for.

Once Upon a Time is my favorite show, haha.  I've been watching it from the beginning though.  I think it'd be hard to understand without starting at the first episode.

What about Mob Doctor?  It's only 1 season, it was cancelled (stupid network that show was awesome) but they closed out the show. It's kinda like House meets Sopranos meets Grey's Anatomy.

Doctor Who? May be a little weird for your liking, also be prepared the first few episodes suck. If I wasn't drunk when I started watching it, I wouldn't have continued the series. I'm now on season 5 and it's an obsession!

I just asked this on the post-a-thon chat thread, but does anyone watch Scandal? I finally started watching Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice on Netflix a year ago (I know, so late to the game), and Scandal is Shonda Rhimes's newest show, so I thought I might like that one too?

I would second (or third or eighth): Sherlock and Downton Abbey.

@Adams_bee:  Come on! We're disappointed when everything is over.  It doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.

Is the series over?  Here in the US, season 3 just started and I didn't hear it was the last.

If you haven't found a season yet you should check out ONe Tree Hill.  Its so good.  It took me a few episodes to get into it, but give it time.  Its so worth it!!

Also another really great one is True Blood.  Vampires!!!  And omg You will be asking yourself who the heck comes up with this stuff lol

Breaking bad (definitely darker than the other shows you like, but it really is awesome)

Bones! (if you like grey's, i think you'll like bones... it has some similar themes, but more focused on murder cases)

How I Met Your Mother (light, easy to watch)

I suggest Alias if you haven't seen it. I'm rewatching it from the begining. I was an avid fan when it originally aired, but my husband never saw it, so we started it a few weeks ago. Loving it all over again!
