...will you be using?  If you're going with the (traditional?) bird cage, how will you decorate it?

BIRDCAGE!  Weaving a wide (3inch) navy and white striped ribbon around the bottom with a card on teh front that reads "CARDS".  My DoC is trying to get me an inside shepards hook to hang it over the gift table Laughing

I'm going with bird cage. It's outside, and gardeny, so it fits. I just put some pretty silk flowers and twine on the top of it.

My Mom created my card box. It is built with papermache boxes wrapped in fabric to look like a stack of gifts...

our wedding had a vintage theme to it so we used a vintage suitcase that we found at an antique store.  it was awesome.

I wish I knew...bees also give ideas for someone having a destination wedding in Aruba, its not like we can lug that with us!  They all look so pretty though.

Oh, I just had a thought...maybe we can do that for our at home reception!

i'm not as handy as the bees..using a 12x12 box (may go smaller if it looks too big), wrapped to look like a gift w/ a big bow on top. i didn't want the traditional look but don't trust myself to do the pyramid thing!

I found a beautiful basket with sage colors. What's great is that it can fit perfectly in my living room after the wedding!

I saw a picture somewhere (probably here!) of a wooden box with a photo of the couple on each side.  I love the idea and have asked my dad to make one.

My florist is providing ours. It is a birdcage with some tulle in it and lightly decorated and she is going to add some of our flowers to it (fresh flowers). Our brunch reception is following a morning wedding (11 am) and the theme is shabby chic. So, it will fit in well. Before we decided on that, I was considering DIY with a mailbox of some type with our name on it.

I haven't decided yet!  I have a few in mind that I really like, but in the end I'll probably go with whatever is the cheapest!

A friend made ours as a wedding present. Champagne wrapping paper and then decorated with burgundy ribbon and rose fabric thingies (I am not crafty so I don't know what they are called).

Bird cage, i think they're so cute! I spray painted mine white and I'll weave damask ribbon throughout the wires.
