We use Revolution on our dog and cat. It’s for both heartworm and fleas and we’ve never seen a flea on either one of them.

I use the topical Frontline. Inconvenient, but less inconvenient than fleas.

We use revolution as well. It can only be perscribed by the vet here.. but it’s the only thing that worked on all our animals effectively.

We actually buy our Revolution from an Australian site – vetshoponline.com. It’s cheaper than buying it in the store (and a prescription I’m assuming).

We use revolution. We actually found a flee on him the other day, but it was only one and the vet said it’s going to happen no matter what they’re on.

I use Sentinel. Its a pill for both fleas and heartworms. I havent had any problems with it so far. (been using it for about a year)

Try Comfortis. It’s a monthly oral prevention and one of the best available; it’s what I use. No messy topical and it works much better and way faster.

ETA: They have also come out with a combo flea/heartworm prevention by the same company called Trifexis, it has the same ingredient for flea prevention as the Comfortis so is still as effective. I am planning on switching to this but as of right now still use Comfortis. And flea collars are totally worthless, I don’t recommend them at all.

Advantage Multi (topical). It seems to work the best in our area.

We use Revolution as well. It’s topical, but I’ve found it really is the best. We use it on our dog and on the cat.

We use Frontline-love it! I won’t ever use any flea collars. They can make a dog (or cat) very, very sick if they manage to ingest (eat) part of the collar.

We use a monthly pill that covers both heartworm and fleas – I don’t remember for sure what kind it is without looking but I think it is Sentinel.
