Being that my family is Cuban and my FH is from Texas & loves classic rock - we are dividing the entertainment up. We are having a live percussionist with a DJ to play spanish/dance music first, then transition to the outside courtyard w/ a live classic rock band. Since the economy is what it is and these are experienced but not signed artist/bands we are getting good deals & able to pull it off.
Our theme is vintage Miami/Havana - so we are having a cigar roller aduring cocktail and probably have the DJ and live percussionist play lighter classic spanish/jazz during the cocktail hour to keep the theme going.

I reeeaaaallly want an 80's cover band. Seriously! But I'm afraid some of my older relatives might not dig it. My friends? LOVE it. Only drawback is the first dances I want to NOT be an 80's song at all. Although there are two songs they could play
1)sea of love-Robert Plant and the Honeydrippers
2)"I just died in your arms" Cutting Crew
(oh well this was the 70's but for when everybody in our bridal party dances it WILL have to be this)
3)"Sweet Home Alabama"-Skynrd
I fessed up my deepest reception desires...What are yours?
