Proceed with caution.

men are so picky when it comes to shoes,  I think I’ve bought my husband at least 12 pairs of shoes, he’s returned every single pair.

currently, he wears Redwings Worx shoes.  He needs a shoe with a steel toe.  He is an engineer, though he’s primarily at his desk most of the day, sometimes he has to visit construction sites so he has to have protective footwear.  He loves these shoes.

He wears something like this, but I don’t think they’re selling the exact style/colour he bought anymore.

@JaneyDcat:  +1  My DH has bought the same style of shoe, which he wears everyday, for most of the time I’ve known him.  The only exception is when they need to be steal toed.

His are something like this.

@accorn:  I don’t even attempt this. He will wear shoes I buy him but he picks out his “everyday” shoes since he’s super picky. Actually, most men I know are super picky about this. I would suggest maybe a gift card for the nike store? thats super hard to pick for someone other than yourself. Plus I know that as many times as I hve tried, FI won’t switch his regular everyday shoes. Currently he has a pair of pumas that he is really into. and for work he wears work boots so that doesn’t count lol

I’ve never bought my DH shoes and don’t intend to unless I know the exact one he wants.  Like other PPs, DH is very picky.  For everyday shoes, my DH wears this Ecco shoe.  He absolutely loves it.  It lasts him around 5 years, if not more.  He’s currently on his second pair (third year for this pair).  It’s a bit pricey, but he loves that they’re so comfortable and last a long time even with every day wear and tear. ETA:  They go great with jeans and a tshirt or khakis and a nice button down shirt! Works either way. 🙂

He wears these–Skechers from Kohl’s. He’s on his second pair.

He used to wear a pair of black New Balances every day, but those were for work. I can’t remember what he wore otherwise.

@accorn:  well I think in that case it might be good to take him along with and pick out a pair of shoes that look more dresscasual but that have the comfort of a tennis shoe. For men there are plenty of options out there. Some of the shoes other bees have posted look a bit more on the mark. my FI is no help here since he wears teenage boy shoes or work boots 99% of the time lol. He does have some nice dress shoes and some more casual shoes for going out but I have to ask him specifically to wear them or they would just sit in the closet. If he’s super attached though to his tennis shoes it might be really hard to break him away from it.

Most of the time he wears shoes like this: http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-631494/streetcars-milan-oxford-shoes-men.jsp’ defer=’defer

I encouraged him to consider more mature footwear since before me his wardrobe really only had comic book tees and flip flops/sneakers.

When he works out or does anything athletic, he wears these: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/Five-Fingers-KSO-Mens.htm?activity=outdoor
