I went to Nordstroms the other day and was overwhelmed!  I'm thinking maybe these will be best?

Did anyone else use spanx?  What type are you ladies buying?

I have the "higher power" and they do exactly what I want them to do. They don't really take off any inches but they do smooth me out so that there is no weird bumps or rolls poking through. They are very comfortable and you can wear them all day.

The only caution I can give you is the seam that runs down the front and back if you have a really light fabric that is tight this seem will show through. Most clothes that I wear my spanx with; however, don't show the seam!

The link you posted is very similar to a pair I bought a while ago to wear under a bridesmaid dress.  I have worn them since, and love them!  Make sure you purchase a pair that has a hole for when you need to use the restroom.  I did not have this sort of access and ended up having to take off my dress and the spanx everytime I had to use the restroom.

i think it depends on your dress. i have a short dress, so i didn't want the shorts peeking through.

Since my dress has fuller skirt I am wearing the hightop panty version vs. the shorts. Similar to the SPANX Slim Cognito.

I don't like the "bicycle short" kind because I'm short and when I wear a skirt and sit down , you can see them.

I prefer the "Slim Cognito" Spanx (without the shorts - they have both styles in the Slim Cognito Line.  Let me see if I can find a link...

Oh and I don't wear the straps that hook onto my bra - I don't need them.  They don't roll down and they are comfortable enough to wear every day.

If you're inbtw sizes, does anyone know if you should order up or down?

I can't believe I'm spending so much time researching spanx!! :)
