I'm almost 100% positive that I'm going to purchase Priscilla of Boston's Vineyard Collection style "Jules". What type of veil would you wear? I'm thinking about my mom's mantilla style veil that is fingertip length, only at the middle/back of my head over my updo rather than the traditional way of wearing a mantilla. Another Bee suggested a birdcage veil, but I don't know if I'm loving that look for the formality of my wedding. Any other thoughts? My sister has a plain cathedral length veil that we are going to try on.
Oh - I like the idea of wearing your mom's veil. So sweet.
If your wedding is going to be very formal, I'd oomph up with a veil on the longer side, with some amazing detail as there's little to compete with on the back of the dress.
Your sister's cathedral length veil would be beautiful (in my opinion) because it would be simply dramatic.
Thanks for the advice Emmylee. My mom's veil is pretty intricate. Another option is to borrow my fiance's mom's veil. It is a cathedral length Belgian lace veil that both she and her daughter (fiance's sister) wore on their wedding days.
That's such a cool modern looking dress! IMO, I think the bird-cage veil would look best with that dress. However, if you aren't feeling the bird-cage... you should go with whatever you like... :)
PS Also, a reason I thought the bird-cage with your dress is b/c of the collar, I thought that a longer veil would interfere with the lines of the collar. (just my thoughts) I'm sure it'll look fab no matter which veil you choose!
Before I even finished reading you whole post, before I read that someone suggested the birdcage, I saw the dress and immediately thought-birdcage. It would stunning with that dress. Honestly, can't imagine any other with it.
yeah i agree. actually i would think no veil, just some type of flower or other hair accessory. but if you need a veil, probably birdcage or shoulder length but definitely one tier.
I checked out the dress and with that dramatic collar, I think a short veil or pretty flowers/combs would look nice in your hair. I am not much of a fan of the birdcage. It's just too conservative and serious looking for my taste. But that's just me! Maybe you can pull it off! Def. not a long cathedral style one though. Good luck and I hope my advice helped!
This style of dress seems to modern to me to do it with the long veil, but I would love to see it with different options if somewhere would let you take photos.

I think the bird cage veil would look really cute with the collar of the dress but cathedral length would also be nice.
