Cathedral length looks stunning with mermaid dresses. That’s my vote!

Chapel is the next length up from Cathedral.

If you find a super-sheer veil, it won’t cover up the details on your dress at all.  If you go with something shorter than chapel length, It is going to cut you off.  Personally, I am not a huge fan of birdcage, except with short dresses.  I think it is just too “casual” with your dress.

I’ve attached a photo from my wedding, as I wore a strapless dress, a low updo and a fascinator, too- the veil I wore would probably work well with your wedding look 🙂

I had a simple single tier veil in silk tulle (very light and soft) attached low at nape of my neck- you can get them with another shorter tier also to go over the face for a traditional look.

Edit: you can’t see in the photo, but I had the veil cut the exact length of the train of my dress.

I don’t think I would go with a birdcage with that dress. I think birdcage veils look better with something 40s/vintagey looking.

OK – maybe this is going to be too obvious – but what about a “Kate Middleton” drop veil that ends in the back where your beautiful mermaid skirt starts?   LOVE your figure in that dress.  WOW!

I think any length veil would look good with that (I’d probably go simple with it, not lacy, sparkly, etc.). I would probably choose a more traditional veil over the birdcage, though, just because it doesn’t seem like the type of dress that would fit a birdcage veil as well

I think the birdcage would actually look fabulous with this dress. The neckline and details and the way it shows off your curves just screams 40’s bombshell to me…Jessica Rabbit maybe? (ok she’s not from the 40’s but you get where I’m going with this) Your birdcage veil would mimic her bangs over her eye.
