I’d go with the second veil. Something about that first one just isn’t right IMO

Go simple. Cathedral, raw cut edge. It’s too dramatic for too much!

Is that the dress that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Oscars? It’s beautiful! I would go with the 2nd veil.

I like what a PP said about a raw cut edge cathedral length … the dress is amazing and i dont think you should hide it with a veil … a super sheer raw cut edge catheral length is what will give you that exclusive bridal look IMO … Congrats !

I was the one who posted the thread that this would make the most awesome wedding dress ever. I am so unbelievably happy you are wearing this. Absolutely beautiful, the 2nd veil would be stunning

@MlleDarcy:  Hmm…I definitely think a drop veil would look stunning with your gown (it’s a pretty classic veil style to me), but I don’t really know if either veil goes with your dress (maybe it’s the highly textural look of the floral motif). I feel as if they compete with–rather than complement/enhance–the Dior. I do think the Saab might work out much better than the McQueen, esp. since it’s beaded/jewelled, rather than lace). My chief concerns are 1) the colour (will it be greyish, like on the runway?) and 2) the level of embellishments.

BUT it also might be the runway lighting/styling. Have you been able to try them on yet or compare fabric swatches?

ETA: I actuallyt think Saab’s 2012 HC finale veil would look fantastic with your gown (esp. with that painted detail):

But it sounds like you really want the sparkle from crystals/beaded embroidery. And if that’s the case, I like the idea of a veil that is bare around your head/torso, with a higher concentration of crystals/beading closer to the edge of the veil. Something like this Herrera beauty or this twinkly Zuhair Murad veil:

@MlleDarcy:  I just edited my post with photos/suggestions. 😀 I figured you were going for a more high-fashion, couture look with your veil, and I firmly believe you can pull it off. I just think there might have to be some give-and-take in regards to the level of detailing on the veil, since the fabric of your gown is highly textured (which lends itself to “clashing” if you aren’t careful).

I adore the direction you are going with the HC veils, I just think you might have to “blunt” the impact of the veil by reducing the amount of embellishments overall, or concentrating on specific areas of the veil…mainly because you are not wearing a plain gown (which is fabulous because it is far from boring!). You just don’t want to overwhelm your look with too much HC detailing (10,000-watt sparkle is wonderful for the runway, maybe not so much for your real-life wedding).
