Why and where?
DH and I need to get away! We were about to buy our first house but it looks like its falling through with the inspection so we’re thinking about taking a vacation to get our mind off of a few things (and our honeymoon was REALLY bad)
so what are the bee’s favorite beaches? resorts? cities to go explore?

Well, my all time favorite vacation was with my honeymoon with DH to the Bahamas (Sandals)….because it was my honeymoon and I was crazy happy.
But, my all time favorite place I have ever visited was the Virgin Islands…Pure heaven for 10 days. We stayed in a privately owned condo on Cowpet Bay, next door to the Ritz. If I were to go back again, I’d either vrbo it, or stay at the Ritz.

Our honeymoon! Kauai and Maui were absolutely gorgeous and you can decide if you want to lay around and do nothing or explore. It probably helped that we stayed at the Four Seasons in Maui.
Other than that we went to Barcelona two years ago and loved it! The city is so quirky and charming looking, there’s a beach and the food was a-mazing.

One of my fave trips was the South Pacific Road Trip my husband and I took.
We drove from Sacramento CA, to San Francisco, then the coast all the way down to San Diego.
We made stops in towns through out the week. The coast is Beautiful.
But if you want a more relaxing vacation, Key West was amazing!

My favorite vacation was definitely our honeymoon to Kauai. But Cabo San Lucas and a wine tasting trip to Napa were also amazing!

The two all inclusives we went to in the Cancun area for our honeymoon were really nice–relaxing, lots of pools, lots of food and alcohol. We went to Excellence Playa Mujeres and Iberostar Grand Paraiso.
We also had a great time in Vegas–totally different from Cancun (much more fast paced) but tons of fun. Just checking out all the different casinos is great, and the fountain show at the Bellagio is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!

Definately Egypt- we took a jeep through the western desert, the ladscape is so beautiful and so varied- and so quiet. There aren’t even any scary bugs, just a few scarab beetles and some fennec foxes. I might be partial since this is where FI proposed, but of our whole stay in Egypt it was my favorite part; so serene and personal.

@LGenz: Barcelona is my dream vacation spot… well and italy
@Ugoob: I love the bay area. My whole family is from there and its still one of my favorite places to be.
@hanaleilove: Cabo is super affordable too! hmm, definitely an option
@Pomapoo: when I think of cancun, I think of college kids…any resorts that escape the party atmosphere?
@missmidcentury: Sounds lovely! I think thats definitely a trip we could take when we are older but might be hard right now because we have a toddler

@Heatherloveskenny: Scotland. Went there for vacation and ended up living there for a year and traveling throughout Europe and Asia.
The people are amazing, the country is breathtakingly gorgeous and the food well it’s okay (gotta try the Scotch though).
If you rent a car you can travel up to Isle of Skye and it is like a deserted paradise filled with lochs and hills.

The one I keep going back to was last summer then-bf and I went with another couple to a cabin in British Columbia. I am biased because that’s when he proposed, but when I think of vacation, that’s the one I want to go back to.

So far my best vacation is the one we did last year to Portugal. We went 2 weeks to visit everywhere, to see his family, my family, beach, sun… and oh yeah that’s where he proposed hihi… Yeah!!!!
