hollyberry4:  I smiled, took a deep breath and nearly cried a little. 🙂 Then put together a cute way to tell DH when he got home an hour later. We didn’t do anything super special to celebrate as everyting is so uncertain at first and it took quite a while to really sink in that we are having a baby. It happened very quickly for us as well so I imagine that it can be different if you have been trying and dreaming about it for months or even years.

With DD, I took the test with DH in the room… so when it came up positive, I just started bawling (happily!) We hugged and kissed and were both so happy. It was awesome.

With my current pregnancy, it was our first month trying to get pregnant, and I decided to take a test a few days early, because the next evening I had a work event to go to that traditionally involved a lot of drinking. I didn’t tell DH I was testing, so when I took the test and it came up positive, I was shocked. I just walked out and said, “uhh.. I will get a better test tomorrow, but I think we’re pregnant!”

We were both happy and quite surprised that it happened so quick!

Both times we didn’t really go out to celebrate or anything like that…just talked a lot about what our future with the new addition would be like!

I posted a picture on here to see if I was going crazy! lol

DH was still asleep, and I wanted to let him sleep in because it was a Saturday and he hadn’t gotten much sleep during the week.  So I impatiently waited for him to wake up, gave him the present I had planned to tell him about a pregnancy, then we went out and bought stuff to make a big delicious breakfast to celebrate 🙂

We laughed at the ultrasound tech lol.  However, I found out in a somewhat unconventional way.  My husband and I were told we wouldn’t be able to have children, so when I started feeling ill, I went to the urgent care clinic thinking I had a stomach flu.  Since I also had abdominal pain, the doctor there suspected an ectopic pregnancy and immediately sent me to the hospital.  Once at the hospital, in order to prep for surgery, they gave me an internal ultrasound.  The tech then revealed to me that it wasn’t an ectopic pregnancy, but in fact I was pregnant with twins.  It was a lot to take in that day.

I screamed and threw the test across the room. I only took the test as routine because I was on the Pill and it’s recomended to take a test if your late for your period as your at risk of ectopic pregnancy, I did so but my period was always a day early/late.

Last thing I expected.  I phoned my twin up crying and he told me to do a better (not cheap £1)

I called SO home from work as I was a hystericle mess and I blurted it out and he didn’t understand what I had said through my tears/blubbering. So I told him a second time and as soon as I saw his smile spread across his face. I instantly calmed down.

He then binned his last cigeretts and booked his driving test.  Then went out to a Tai resturaunt to celebrate.

The next day I phoned my mum up and she was was in Tesco, I asked if she had a second and I blurted out that I’m pregnant.

SO told his parents in the car, they were dropping his brother off. He had the following conversation with his dad.

SO – “So me and Clo went to that new Tai resturant the other night to Celebrate..”

His Dad – ” What were you celebrating? 6 months? “

SO – “Yeah… and Clo’s pregnant”.

His dad was over the moon and so was his mum. Here we 5 months later. Awaiting the arrival of our little boy due 22nd Dec x

This time around, I took the test at like 10 dpo so the line was incredibly faint.  I showed DH and he couldn’t see it. So we put some shoes on and went outside at 6am to see the test in the daylight and under natural light the faint line was clear as day. If our neighbors saw us they’d think we’d gone insane. Young couple in their pajamas in their backyard hugging and celebrating over a pee stick at 6am. Afterwords we made pancakes and watched Knocked Up. 🙂

I only took a test because I had a work bbq that afternoon and there is always a lot of drinking involved. I didn’t expect it to be positive, but there were two dark lines. I immediately started crying (happy tears) and called my husband. I probably scared him since I was crying, but I told him I just couldn’t believe it. He said, “Well what did you think was going to happen? I have super sperm.” Ha!

It was our first month trying and I believe DH’s comment was “BOOM! Head shot!” haha

Sadly that pregnancy ended in MC so I’m kind of glad we didn’t go shouting it from the rooftops right away.

DH didn’t know I was testing. We had been trying for 9 long months. I got a super squinter while he was at work. I waited until he got home and had a nap. When I finally told him, he said he already knew by the crazy look on my face all afternoon! We went out for dinner to celebrate. It was all extremely surreal.

Freak out and post on the Bee! Seriously… I tested at my office (total surprise) after buying a test at the CVS next door. I got a positive, freaked out, and posted here. Then I went and bought a “I’m pregnant” package from that same CVS to surprise DH with after he got from jiu jitsu class. Definitely a time I will never, ever forget.

hollyberry4:  I looked, cried in disbelief, and then I ran full boar down the steps, flipped on the light, and satrted sharking my husband to wake up and shoved the stick in his face. He smiled and said very little, so I went back upstairs to sit by myself and digest it, and he came around 🙂

It was my BFF’s wedding that day, so we celebrated by going to a wedding!

hollyberry4:  So, my husband always told me that he wanted me to tell him I was pregnant in a creative way. Since this was a TOTAL oopsie, I wanted to be sure to do that. All I had access to was CVS, so I bought a blue gift bag, jar of prego, deflated pink and blue ballons (they look sperm, ha!), and a card with two raccoons holding onto a tree for dear life. I wrote something like “Hold on tight and get ready for the ride… DADDY!” in the card. I partnered all of that with two shots of whiskey and note that said “one of us is getting drunk tonight.” haha! I put the positive test in the bag, too. It was the last thing he pulled out. I will honestly never forget that moment. He fell to his knees, hugging me in tears. He told me he was so happy and so scared. He’s a great dad. Our little girl is 8 months old now.
