Our first was from fiance's dad, who got us Superfly camp stove and titanium camp cookware to go with it. That man knows what we like! It was a great gift :)
Our first was my favorite - the Zombie Spiderman & Mary Jane Statue!

My Fiance's grandfather gave us $5000- not bad huh- he said consider that part of your present :)
2 days after we got engaged, my parents gave us our toasting champagne flutes for our wedding - kind of a tradition in our family.
Our first was a complete place setting of our dishes and flatware, plus salt and pepper shakers and a few tumblers. It was great because it was an incredibly generous gift and it was great to get a complete setting! The gift came from a friend who probably just wanted to get her shopping out of the way.
Our first present was our coffee maker! I got really nervous because I had just updated our registry a few days prior and was worried that I hit "buy" instead of "add to registry". My FI was really excited because the coffee maker was his first requirement of our registry (mine was the KitchenAid which arrived a week later :) )
The first gift that was purchased from out registry was our dining set from my aunt!
But that has not been shipped yet, but the first thing that I have received is one of our Wushof knives! :)
We've actually received our Rachel Ray pan set from my mom and his mom. We are waiting until the wedding to use them, which is hard for my FI, because they are the ones that he wanted and he wants to use them now!! But we felt weird about using them before we got married. So they are in the spare bedroom/wedding room right now!!!
The first present we received was our silverware! I kept telling people I never thought 2 people could get so excited over forks! It is fun though and we've used just about everything we got from the bridal shower already. We're already living in sin so I really didnt think waiting or not waiting to use our gifts would affect anything.
Our first gift was our flatware. We had it in our storage space because we aren't using gifts before the wedding... and the white trash fers that live upstairs from us stole it. We got half of it back and money for the rest to rebuy it but my god. I know its bad luck to use gifts before the wedding but what about when its stolen? And now whenever we go to use it we wont' be thinking wow that was awfully nice of Aunt Judy and Uncle Terry we'll be thinking how it was stolen....
Sorry still bitter I guess.
I got really nervous when we didn't have any registry hits, but then my MOH broke the ice, and got us our dinner place settings we registered for! I heart her!! Then I started noticing other things being purchased, and now I feel better, but I'm nervous about transporting it all back home after the wedding!
we didn't have a registry, so we expected people will or will not give us presents at the wedding day, but days before the wedding, my husband's boss gifted us a giant microwave! i think he was very kind and generous!
crock pot! whoop whoop! lol
@mrsleopard - side note, your a freak, but I LOVE it ha ha!
We haven't gotten any WEDDING gifts yet but we have gotten a few engagement gifts. Our very first were champagne flutes.
We just got our first one today!! We weren't expecting it--invites aren't even out yet! So there was a box waiting when we got home from work, and I was like, hey, did you order something? And FI's like, no...OH WAIT. Could it be?
We ripped it open, and it's gorgeous Riedel wine glasses! We are huge wine drinkers, so it was such an appropriate first gift. Wouldn't have been quite so exciting if it was like, dish towels (though I would love to get our dish towels too!).
We couldn't resist having one glass of wine in them (right now!) and then we're putting them away till after the wedding.
The week or so following our engagement, we received our first gift
...
Our first gift was mailed to us long before we sent our invites. Some people are so ahead of the game!
My dad's distant cousins sent us a Crate and Barrel canister set. So nice of them! They weren't able to make it to the wedding and I was so surprised to see it 5 months before the wedding!
Right after announcing our engagement, my grandmother sent us a new sewing machine! It's been sooooo useful with all the wedding projects!
Our first wedding wedding present (non-shower or engagement) was some wedgewood china cups and saucers that are about 60 years old from my grandmother and her twin who each had a set. Their mother gave them to them when they were younger, and they got together to give them to us. Her twin had to send hers from London, and my grandma gave them to us by herself. It was such a sweet moment. I'm SUCH a sucker for that nostalgic stuff.
Our first gift (not including shower gifts) was a 16-pc place setting from Crate & Barrel with salt & pepper shakers. It was great because we had our new place and desperately needed new dishes!
Our first gift that wasn't for the shower was a serving bowl off our registry from someone who wasn't able to make it for the wedding. It was expensive for one piece of china so we weren't sure if anyone would buy it and were thrilled when someone did.
A really really pretty frame that I LOVE that says "Dreams really do come true..." and then our engagement date. It was from one of my bridesmaids :)
Since we decided not to have an Engagement party, my MOH bought us a French Press from our registry - the one item FH really didn't care for! I though it was so funny, we had a good laugh :)
We got a crock pot for an engagement gift. I've used it 3 out of the 4 days I've cooked this week! I LOVE IT!
Since the Waterford stemware factory shut down in Ireland, my mom was really concerned that I wouldn't be able to get the stemware I wanted in my pattern or that it would be of a lesser quality if it was produced somewhere else... so our first wedding gift was 12 wine, 12 water, and 12 flutes in my pattern. I'm going to register for 12 iced tea to complete the set, but this has been a family tradition in my family - waterford stemware that is. Our "official" gift not stemware related was a place setting plus accent place of my china pattern.
My mom's friend gave us Vera Wang champagne flutes! They're probably the nicest thing I own now. : )
A bear keg. It's a barrel designed to put food in while you're backpacking and bears can't get into it. Really. It was our first gift, and I think it'll be our best :) Yes, we do quite a bit of backpacking, haha.

Our invitations started arriving in mailboxes today (YAY!). I am a little registry-obsessed, and I'm wondering which gift we will get first. I have a feeling it will be a momentous occasion. (I hope this doesn't make me sound greedy - I'm just excited!)
