I am also a victim of Dress Regret! And am officially a two-dress bride.

The first dress was beautiful, classy and elegant – but also plain, and simple, and a tad typical. I LOVED it at first because it was the first dress I tried on that actually fit me and had the kind of idea I was going for. But my Mother picked it, and therefore she of course loooooooved it and told me so. Since she was playing for the dress, I kind of went along with it. Unfortunately though, my dress regret kicked in pretty early and I realized that the dress that I (we) had chosen was not at all special or bridalenough for me. It didnt...sparkle`.

Here`s the first dress:

Annnnnd heres the dress I actually fell in love with and cried over! Its got beading, sparkle, lace, tulle, and fits like a dream. (annnd has a matching bolero!) :

BEAUTIFUL!!!

When my fiance & I first got engaged, I went looking for a wedding dress. This was in 2009 and I went for fun. Well, I found a few I liked…and I only liked them because they covered my roll.

Well, now I’ve lost a ton of weight, and the dress is way to big for me. So, that was my dress regret. Buying to early and only focusing on it covered my roll. Needless to say, I am now very excited to go out and find a brand new dress!!

The first dress I saw online and thought it was all I’d ever wanted. I ordered it, it arrived and it was very nice and fit perfectly! My MOHs and my mom agreed. But then I thought, well, I should at least try on some other dresses. Yeah…. next thing you know, the dress was changed, and everyone agreed with me. LOL. All in all though, I got the first dress on clearance so it’s not so bad, and my second dress is under $500.

@Sesame Snap: Thank you so much!! I was totally admiring your second dress as well – I absolutely love how the tulle is embroidered a bit as well! Hehee we have similar tastes! Yay for us for doing what we believed in! 🙂

When I first started shopping for wedding dresses I was back in my hometown for the holidays and wanted to get a dress there before returning to Reno.  My Mom and I went shopping three times and on the final night, I told myself that I needed a dress and that was that.  The onyl reason I picked my first dress is because I felt like the ruching hid my fat stomach.  I even thought to myself that I wasn’t totally in love with it but I could learn to love it…HAHA!  Later on I realized that it just wasn’t what I wanted at all.  I dislike bling and there was a lot of it on the dress and it just wasn’t as simple as what I’d originally set out to buy.  So, I went shopping when I got back to Reno and found a sample that I liked and bought it!   I basically just rushed into the decision, which I never should have done!!!

First dress (I only have model pics ’cause I’m on FI’s computer right now & not mine)

Second dress!  I don’t like the model picture, though.

@icedchaitea: Your second dress is beautiful!  What is it?

Here is my dress (from another poster’s classified listing), I bought it the first time I went shopping because it was on sale and my mom and sister were letting me how much better it was than the more expensive one I wanted.  (It was only $500).  I’ve tried selling it since then, but I never found a buyer and I didn’t want to buy another because I didn’t want to upset my mom since she paid for the first one. 🙁

The one time I tried taking her dress shopping again, she refused to say anything the entire time we were there…

@assilem: I did the exact same thing–felt pressured to buy while my mother was in town.

I exchanged first dress for second dress, decided second dress just wasn’t what I wanted, then saw third dress which for sale for a great price.
