My (now) husband and I went to a local pub/restaurant and hit it off. We then went out for coffee, and to a movie later, and made out with one another until our lips went numb!
What was your first date like with your SO?

Our first date was perfect, honestly. I picked him up in at the train station and I drove him around my home town for a while. We went to the mall, saw a movie, went to dinner together, and then spent the night hanging out at a local playground.

@iloverocks: It was fun! The power went out at our apartment (we were potluck roomates) so we went to Applebees after driving around trying to find a restaurant with power. We ran into some of my friends which reduced the awkwardness from not really knowing each other and turned it into a double-date. At the end of the date he went to pay and a picture of his ex girlfriend dropped out of his wallet! It was hilarious and he ended up leaving it for the waiter to enjoy.

We snuck off from our friends so no one would suspect anything, walked along Manila Bay to an Italian restaurant that served draft beer…we kissed along the way…had a lovely dinner and nearly went back to the hostel to have sex but didn’t and eventually found our way to a bar where a popular Filipino singer was performing. 🙂

My SO and I “met” on an online dating site, so our first meeting was at a coffee shop and was pretty short. We just wanted to make sure the other person was not a creeper and looked at least a little like their profile picture.
Our first actual date was at a Thai restaurant the following week and towards the end of the date, he moved over to my side of the table to show me a video of his cats on his phone and I nearly fainted from how amazing he smelled. I then caught him off guard by kissing him after he walked me to my car (the first time I have EVER made the first move) and felt so awkward about it afterwards that I considered texting him an apology. Since he wasn’t expecting it, he barely kissed me back and I was certain that he hated me. He teases me about it to this day 🙂

We were both in college, so a fancy dinner date seemed extra special. He took me to an Italian restaurant that was about 20 minutes away from campus, and we hit it off right away. We even were comfortable enough to sing along to the radio together on the car ride back to campus! It was a great date and a wonderful start to happily ever after!

First date-We split a pitcher and a plate of nachos at the local ale house. I was very nervous about our first official ‘date’ (we’d been flirting, hanging out, etc before all of this), that I met up with someone else for a drink first to take the edge off!!! (and he STILL teases me about that).
We chatted about our goals, dreams, what we want out of the future and I started to fall in love right there–I couldn’t believe how compatible we were!
We then went back to his place to watch one of my favorite movies of all time, The Big Lebowski–and then I went home. Perfect evening.

He was pretty nervous about dating me (apparently he didn’t think I would ever agree to go on a date with him). So anyway he took me out to dinner and we had a great time, I then suggested that we go to a local park to keep on hanging out. He was still so nervous about how the date would continue to g he threw up in the parking lot (no drinks involved). After making sure he was okay I got a good laugh out of it and he felt so embarassed he figured I’d never agree to go out with him again…yea I called him the next day and asked him to hang out again.
So he is convinced it was the worst date he ever had been on…I’m convinced its the best date I’d ever been on. Got married 5 years later and now we are expecting two boys to join our family (pregnant with twins!).

@iloverocks: Our first “date” was actually in game (we met playing WoW) so it’s probably pretty boring to non-gamers (and kind of cool to gamers).
Our first in person date was him coming to visit me for a week (I’m from CA he’s from NJ). We went to disneyland, venice beach, the wild animal park, and basically anything you’d probably do if you were vacationing in southern CA. I knew after that week that he was going to be the person I spent the rest of my life with.

We went to a coffee shop and a mutual friend tagged along. He ended up having to leave for a bit to take an old lady home, and I started to feel sick, so I left while he was gone. It was pretty awful. Lmao. But now thats our favorite coffee shop!

- Wedding: July 2013 - The front lawn of our church
@iloverocks: We played disc golf and then got slurpies and 7-11. It was perfect! There was no pressure for constant conversation since we were playing. We were both just able to relax and have fun. We both really enjoyed it and weren’t awkward at all.

I knew he must be interested because it was a SUPER fancy place: Blue Ribbon Bistro in NYC. He came an hour early because you cant make reservations. I thought it was so sweet.
I was tipsy by the time we left dinner and I said… “wanna go to a dark bar and make out?” And thats what we did.
When the date was over, I was trying to hail a cab. Before I even knew what was happening he flagged me down a luxury towncar, PAID for it, and bought a single rose from the street vendor and put me in the car with it! Didnt know he paid for it till I was home.
it was so romantic. It was like The Bachelor- I got the rose!

@Sassyfras27: Thia is an excelent first date option! My FI and I went out for Thia as well. And then a walk in the park. Or at least, what he calls our first date.
I prefer calling our first date the night that his friend pretty much forced us together, as we went out star gazing with his best friend and BF’s GF. It was all a giant set up as they knew at the time that we both were edging along dating eachother and it kind of pushed us over the edge. 🙂 Considering that night in the car while the BF and the GF were putzing around a gas station I pretty much started cuddling with him and we basically looked at eachother and went “So this is happening?” “Yep.”

Our first date was a high school homecoming dance…we were 16 and neither of us had our license yet, so my mom drove us in her mini-van!
Another girl at the dance used his attendance (he went to a different high school, so normally wasn’t at our homecoming) as an opportunity to declare her feelings and ask him out. He turned her down, and she ran out in tears… lovely evening, really. Young, innocent kids we were, with my mother sitting in the car, we hugged at the end of the night.
