I’m not talking about down payments for venues, photographers, or any kind of service. I am talking about something tangible. Something you can hold, or touch.
Our first tangible purchase was, oddly enough, my garter. We found it at a Halloween shop and it was too perfect to pass up! A whole $5 too!
What was your first?

My shoes! But then I found another pair I liked more and sold them. lol

My first was my corset, I needed it to order my gown. I Love my corset.
Then I got my heart-shaped favor boxes, and a gift card holder, now I’m waiting for the dress to come in 🙂

Probably my dress, or some small piece of decor – I’ve been buying stuff to decorate little by little (I got a bunch of full stuff on clearance last year).

A placemat that I used as inspiration!
And then the dress : )

My dress was my first tangible purchase. Then my jewelry, then my shoes, and then my clutch.

My dress, but I won’t count that because it wasn’t exactly tangible until this month.
Purple and clear glass for the centerpieces:
I saw it, decided it had to happen and based the rest of the wedding “theme” off of them! lol

@dynamic_duo: Totaly unrelated but you are getting married on my birthday. YAY! Does that mean I have a weekend birthday this year? (Fingers crossed and too lazy to actually look at a calendar)

My shoes! That was the easiest decision in the whole shebang.

Hmm, I don’t have anything tangible yet for my wedding. My first purchase was my dress (three days after I got engaged). But I won’t get that until May. I really don’t think I have anything tangible yet.

haha, my FI and I left the store a couple of weeks ago with our first purchase and when we got back to the car i asked her “so, do you think its weird that the first actual THING that we purchased for the wedding was containers for the candy buffet?” eh, it might be, but i am so excited about that for our wedding – and we are trying to buy a couple little things every pay check or so

If we aren’t including down payment on venue, so far we’ve only spent about $150 worth of real touch flowers and craft supplies for our DIY bouquets/bouts. My mom bought my wedding dress, alterations, and under garments (over $700). We put $1000 down on our venue + package. 🙂
