Im having a hard time figuring out what a good flower budget looks like. Im having 25 tables of 8. i’m having 200 adult guest & 35 children. (the kids will have a separate room, no flowers needed)
our overall budget is $25,000.
How much of that should go to flowers/centerpieces & church decor.?
HELP PLEASE!! my wedding is 6 months and 2 days away & I have yet to find a florist/know my budget.

My flower budget was $500 but I only had 100 guests.

My flower budget will be 300-500. That will be for the same amount of guests as you. I’m doing mine myself since I worked as a florist and it will be cheaper, but it looks like you have a big enough budget to do quite a bit.

We’re spending about 7-9% of our “budget” on flowers. The reason i put budget in quotes is because we don’t really have one. Rather that’s an estimate of how much I think everything will end up costing once we’re all done.

Our weddings are similar in size and budget. We ended up spending about $2500 on the flowers. That included: bouquets, boutineers, corsages, 2 alter arrangements, 20 centerpieces and about 19 other miscellanous floral arrangements for tables at the reception. Oh and the flowers for the cake.

I had a similar size. My overall budget was 30,000. I spent a bit more than $3,000 on flowers. That included some draping, bouquets, corsages, boutineers, centerpieces for 20 tables, cake flowers, guest book table arrangements, etc…
I think it really depends on what type of flowers you use, what type of florist you use, etc. I would say about 10% is good, I wouldn’t do more than that!

Ours was $350 but we didn’t used flowers in our centerpieces.

we aren’t doing flower centerpieces and our budget for bouquets, boutenierres, etc is $1,000…. But we are getting married on an island and flowers are expensive to get out there…

My total budget for the wedding is $15k and we ended up paying $1,550 for all the flowers. Have you tried using the knots’ budgeter? You put in how many guests and your total budget then hit calculate and it tells you how much you have to spend for each category. It’s awesome!!!!

thank you so much ladies, looking at everyone’s budget and amount spent, it looks like around 10% of the total budget sounds right.
@kaitybug: i think that sounds just about right! so that means $2,500 would be my budget. :] Thanks!!
Im hoping on having Hydrangeas, garden roses and peonies, I hope thats enough, i’ve heard those are some of the most expensive flowers. :/

Well, it WAS $1,000 (overall budget was $14,000), but with what I wanted it came to $1,600 (overall approaching $17K). Approx 150 guests.

Like everyone else said, about 10% of your budget so go to flowers.
Total budget was $300 but I ended up at $550. Mom is paying the extra $250.

i’m making ALL My flowers by hand, with paper… my budget is like 150 bucks if that! and that includes poms, centerpieces, chair decorations, bouquet, etc. I am using recycled magazines, dollar store napkins and floral wire. Also on hand scrapbook paper scraps, etc… I gotta do what I gotta do, so glad I have time to do it… 2 years. otherwise I would never be able to pull it off. the guys aren’t wearing flowers. My daughter will probably need a bouquet too.
