A very strange wood carving of a church. We’re not at all religious…

@GeekChic:  I can see how that would be strange- but I am not really religious— I have attended church with my family in the past on Christmas, and my son is baptised….but we do not go to church.  When my grandparents moved out of thier townhouse, they left a lot of cool art/pieces behind.  One of my favorites is a clay church. It’s so cool + I have it at home now.

@MrsEME: I don’t really even know if I should call it a church? It’s like a hunk of wood with a cross carved in the top. I don’t really know what to do with it lol

@GeekChic:  guest room!!  if you don’t have a guest room, the closet corner always needs a decorative piece 😉

Our gifts have been so tasteful! The only ones off registry have been wine chimes (love ’em), a green toile pattern teapot (love it), and a set of Halloween dish towels that isn’t ME at all but they make me laugh, so I like them.

Thank God for the registry!

@missstarling:  My Mom’s friend, who I’ve never met and was not invited to the wedding, got us towels that werent on our registry and didnt match anything. Luckily, they were sold at Macy’s and I was able to return them without a reciept. The other weird one was 1 oven mit. I added a few $10-$35 items expecting people to pick a few of them in a group. DH’s Uncle by marriage who is well off got us a $35 oven mit. Just one…

One of FI’s relatives gave us a food slicer machine.  It looks like a deli meat slicer.  He bought it just so he could do a Seinfeld episode reference on the card.  Cute idea, but what to do with the thing?  No room for it as we have a small kitchen that is packed.

@KoiKove:  I’ve never understood why oven mitts are not sold as a set.

We were very lucky since most of our guests gave cash and the others purchased from our registries.  However, my friend got married and the worst present she got was actually from her own mother; a huge and hideous lime green candle holder.

@missstarling:  A Bible!  Neither one of us is religious.  It’s a very cheap one too.  The giver is one of my mom’s friends, who is born again or something along those lines.

We got kitchen towels with lemons on a blue checkered background. Really? Lol.

Coolest gift (and strangest to most people) was an awesome working antique fan.
