Bees,
My wedding is pretty low budgeted. But so far everything is working out. You really can do alot on a low budget! Just got to be creative. Anyway, I have been looking at shoes and I think I have found the ones that I want to get.
Im considering one of these:

Out of all the flat shoes Ive seen, none have given me (peace) about them. Ladies you know what Im talking about. You know that feeling you get when you have found THE shoes. :)
Im thinking about saving for one of these. Plus I just saw that the bottom one is on sale right now at 170! Usual price is 275! SO if I decide to get these, this will be my big splurge. Whats yours???
Man those are some super cute shoes! Definitely a good splurge :) I have splurged on my dress (Ian Stuart) and I splurged on getting a second line parade for my guests! Blargh that's like 2 grand I could have saved right there!!!!
Ahh I loveeee love love them! super cute, I want a pair!
for me as of now, Might sound silly.. but..
chocolate fountain !
Yes please! lol
Hmm...as far as an absolutely-not-necesarry splurge...a martini louge with signature drinks! Totally not needed butttttttt if we can afford it...I want it! Oh, right, we're also spending $1200 on Chiavari chairs vs Ballroom chairs...who would have ever thought i'd care about chairs?!? apparently i do!
I've already splurged on shoes, haha, they were $200 (orig. $300, but at least I got a deal) but supposed to be about the most comfortable shoes you can get. I've worn then to a few things so they already need to be cleaned though :p
That second pair is fabulous! Out of all my accessories, my shoes were my biggest splurge. I had to do it, I mean, when would I ever get a chance to wear something like these again? :)

@linguo42: Those are so cute! Good splurge for sure :)
@lefeymw: This is what I was going to splurge on but I got really lucky with only having to pay travel costs for my photographer (I LOVE them and theyre professionals not friendors!) and then my food somehow turned out surprisingly cheap! We are using a household name (Brennan) in New Orleans but since I am also using their venue I get a major discount on all this yummy southern food! Oh yeah :)
Bar, string quartet, keeping the butterfly exhibit open during cocktail hour, cake.
Mine was definitely the dress and the photography. Here's both :).

I know its time to finally get married (7 years in the making) when everything kept falling into our laps, perfectly and nearly free!
After a 75% off dress, a 97% off e-ring (yes, I said 97% and i mean it!), winning a free e-pics session, free church, ridiculously inexpensive shoes and hair, getting invites and programs @ cost thanks to a family friend, free flowers (my mom is a genius with all things floral), I have 2 BIG splurges...Photography and reception venue.
For a couple years now I've stalked my photog's website dreaming of having him do my e-pics and wedding but I knew I could never afford it. I entered a contest and WON him to take e-pics. As soon as I go this one teaser shot, I knew that I'd alter my ENTIRE day so long as he could be there.
The venue is almost the same....I've always dreamed of having my reception there, but knew I could never afford it. It pays off to ASK and check things out before assuming!!!! We are getting the venue (includes food, service, AND decor) for a great price, and it all fits the budget!!!!
My dress! $2000! My catering and cake together are only $2500 and that's my biggest expense!
Biggest splurge that is so not necessary - white dance floor. Can you say obsessed?! There is a parquet floor at the venue but I am all for getting the shiny white vinyl to cover it. Total price after deliver: $2800. Gulp...
And my new splurge that FI will probably veto is circus performers at the reception. I originally was going to hire the Bubble Man(does fancy bubbles) but than another Bee mentioned she manages a duo that does circus acts. Umm.... Awesome!! Haven't seen pricing for this but know it is definitely a splurge.
Our photobooth..not necessary but totally cool. We arent doing favors/programs/expensive invitations so it kinda balances itsself out..but it still is $1000 for 6 hours of boothage.
Our splurge is the massive family cruise that we're bankrolling so our (immediate) families can join in our big day.
Catering!! But I'm a major foodie so it's worth it to me! It will be around $8000 (not including alcohol) possibly over!
My dress, my budget was under $1000 and I payed like $1260 which is awesome since the the dress retails for $1439(My appt on a weekend were they was taking % off do to truck show). We also pushed the budget on photography but I got a crazy good deal so I don't really count that.
im hoping to make our biggest splurge our honeymoon still tbd. we want to relax on a beach and do some activites like kayaking, eating, exploring, spa, and lots of loving! right now hawaii and italy/capri are of interest, or some pacific islands...not sure!
The food and alcohol. We have to spend a minimum of $8500 before tax and gratuity. And we only have 125 people that will likely come.
I LOVE the 2nd shoe!!! I've been drooling over them as well. =)
My splurge was my shoes so I say go for it!!! My parents also were very generous on gifting me my jewelery for my wedding day so those were major splurges as well!
Ohhh I wish I could splurge on shoes!!
We put almost half of our total budget towards the catering and alcohol. We are total foodies and are really going all out.
Totally our photographer. It was the one thing important to FI, and it ended up being close to 1/3 out budget. I also bought expensive (for me) shoes at $70 and spent $60 on these super adorable coffee cups for our cocoa bar, which to me is insane but they are so cute!
Myself. LOL My dress, accessories for our wedding day, accessories for our day-after photo shoot, and hair and make-up for all of the wedding-related events accounted for the second largest chunk of our wedding-related spending. And I looked effing fabulous! Money well spent. ;)
Venue and Photography
Everything else is cheap, cheap and we got a great deal on the food basically because the caterer really seemed to like us :)
I would say we are splurging on uplighting and chiavari chairs (total cost ~2000 for both)...we'd also like a martini louge with signature drink during cocktail hour and a string quartet but those are like way way splurges if we have the money...

Well, I kinda feel like everything is a splurge.. but I might just be cheap! lol! I would say my dress, food and photography. We also hired a string quartet for the cocktail hour..
@MrsNeutrino: Agreed! I feel like the entire wedding is a splurge!
I would say our major splurge is lighting.... but that's mostly because most people think lighting is not needed to begin with. We're also splurging on our cinematographer.
My splurge is definitely my photographer and honeymoon! =]
Ugh, definitely my dress. We were originally having a much bigger wedding when I bought my $2,000 Maggie Sottero Georgina. Now the entire wedding costs less than my dress. A giant budget fail on my part.
The photographer and the DJ. Our reception/caterer came in right on budget (and included a top shelf open bar), and my dress and stuff were well within reason ($550 for the dress, $200 for the shoes, which I guess is a splurge but I'll wear them til they fall apart, and it's not unheard of for me to spend that kind of money on really good shoes).
We figured, people remember the food, people remember the music, and we'll have the pictures forever. Other than that, no one's going to remember/care except us.
Our splurge was the veune (almost 1/4 the budget of the wedding) and the honeymoon.
